YOUR OPPORTUNITY:
As the Supply Management Lead - Horizon Oil Sands Operations you will be responsible for supervising, coaching, mentoring and training their employees to contribute to the successful growth and development of the Supply Management team at Canadian Natural Resources. You will work with your team to drive success factors such as communicating effectively with suppliers, internal customers, peers, and senior management, in order to gain an in depth understanding of business requirements, strategies, market forces and subsequent procurement requirements.

You will be responsible for the allocation of resources to execute the acquisition process including scope development, supply market research and positioning, requests for proposals/quotations, evaluations, finalization, award and subsequent contract management. You will provide leading resources and effective supply management and sourcing techniques to establish and manage contract and supply arrangements for key equipment, supplies and services.

This position is based in Fort McMurray, Alberta and is eligible for:
. Relocation to Calgary or Fort McMurray

LEADERSHIP:

HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
. Balance the respective Business Unit requests with the joint identification of strategic initiatives for long range value creation
. Work in partnership with Business Units to identify and implement strategies centered on a reduction of operating costs
. Identify, capture and drive volume leveraging opportunities and overall cost reduction initiatives
. Ensure that all commitments are exercised within the Grants of Authority
. Diligently monitor and supervise the procurement and contracting practices to ensure consistency and complete compliance with internal policies and external laws and regulations
. Support the team in liaising with legal, risk, finance, accounting, internal client business units, and other stakeholders to ensure that all contract terms address all related requirements and policies
. Lead and provide guidance to the team in developing request for proposals, managing interfaces between Canadian Natural Resources and proposing companies during the proposal development phase, evaluation of proposals, negotiation / clarification, recommending selected suppliers, award of business and execution of appropriate procurement and contract documents
. Oversee personnel, resources and activities to plan and execute all factors and steps related supporting the Horizon Oil Sands Business Unit

QUALIFICATIONS: 
. Typically 10+ years of related industry experience, including 3+ years of managerial experience with post-secondary degree
. Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is beneficial 
. Familiarity with and understanding of:
   o Developing and leading teams with large scale operations
   o Working with the Microsoft Office suite, an understanding of JD Edwards is an advantage
   o Working in a Supply Chain Operations environment
   o Working in a role requiring flexibility and innovation
