Position Description

Job Summary

The Analyst will work closely with the Sr. Manager, Compensation and Benefits to support the development, deployment and ongoing coordination of policies, initiatives and programs in the areas of compensation.

Specific Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities generally include, but are not limited to:

  • Participate in the development, deployment and follow up of programs, activities and tools in all areas of compensation;  
  • Lead the research, analysis, costing and initial recommendation aspects of compensation activities and initiatives; 
  • Administer and coordinate program activities and prepare supporting documentation for the communication and/or implementation of these programs; 
  • Lead the annual compensation data survey submission and benchmarking analysis,  including the validation of benchmark positions and market comparators; 
  • Ensure compliance with the Pay Equity legislations where applicable and lead all submission and maintenance exercises; 
  • Lead the job evaluation process, determining classification and developing appropriate salary recommendations when required; 
  • Provide first level support to HR Business Partners to ensure the effective delivery of programs and may occasionally be called upon to provide employee support; 
  • Analyse results, report and recommend changes and improvements to existing programs for approval;
  • Remain abreast of trends/issues, both internal and external, which could affect McKesson Canadaâ?Ts market position, employee satisfaction and People Strategies.

Key Competencies and Education

  • Bachelor degree in industrial relations, human resources or management; 
  • 5 to 8 years of experience working in total compensation; 
  • Experience with sales incentive compensation, a definite asset; 
  • Knowledge of survey methodology and point-factor job evaluation systems; 
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills; 
  • Fully bilingual with excellent communication skills (both oral and written); 
  • Solid business acumen and customer focus; 
  • Flexible and capable of adapting to changing business conditions and priorities; 
  • In depth knowledge of Excel, Powerpoint, Word,  Peoplesoft or other HRIS; 
  • Able to work under minimum supervision and act as a team player; 
  • Experience with unionized environments, an asset.
