The Opportunity

Executrade is excited to partner with a well established health care organization here in Edmonton and search for its' next Director of Operations. We seek someone who ideally has a background in healthcare, proven leadership ability, with an ease to establish new relationships and foster existing ones with clients. We are looking for someone who is adaptable (and enjoys) a changing environment, because no day is the same!

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Oversee the general operations of the Edmonton business - encompassing roughly 500 employees, with half a dozen supervisors directly reporting into this individual
  • Will participate in the identification and development of the program goals, policies and procedures consistent with current professional and legal standards of practice
  • Will maintain and encourage effective communications strategies to ensure quality client care according to service excellence guidelines, as well as encourage communication between internal teams and employees
  • Oversee the financial goals and budgets of the business out of Edmonton - taking responsibility over the financial and operational performance
  • Supervising, mentoring and coaching direct reports, along with assisting with other employees as required
  • Recruitment of both clinical, supervisory and administrative staff along with internal Recruiter
  • Identifying, implementing and sustaining program practices and procedures under the direction of the Director of Quality & Risk
  • Planning and coordinating professional activities and service delivery activities to achieve department goals and priorities to meet performance standards
  • Participating in RFP and accreditation activities
  • Ensuring effective management of client and customer issues and concerns and leads in the resolution of complex customer issues and concerns
  • Planning, evaluating and improving all risk management strategies
  • Ensuring compliance and ongoing evaluation of Records Information Management through routine client chart audits, both off and on site
  • Monitoring company performance indicators and initiates and executing on action plans to improve performance
  • Other related human resources duties may include (after hire is completed) new employee orientation, training & education, retention related programs and evaluations, reviews, performance management, etc
  • Other related management duties as required

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Completion of a post secondary degree - ideally in business, management or one with a health care focus (ie nursing)
  • Minimum 5-10 years experience supervising/leading a large group of employees
  • Valid Alberta drivers license, reliable vehicle
  • Self-motivated, creative individual with a commitment to the well-being of all clients and employees
  • Excellent planning, priority-setting, problem solving, and negotiating skills
  • Past experience overseeing and being accountable to the financial and operational goals for an organization
  • Demonstrated time management, critical thinking and conflict resolution skills
  • Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a team
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Past experience in community health care will give you the competitive edge!
