Position Description

Job Summary

Reporting to the Manager, Financial Reporting & Budget, the Senior Analyst, Financial Planning will analyse, plan and support the preparation of the annual budget plan and the cash flow forecasting process.

Specific Responsibilities

  • In collaboration with the Corporate Controller and the Director, Financial Planning and Analysis, develops a corporate cash flow forecasting model, prepares and reviews financial and budgetary forecasts and scenarios for internal clients, and plans short and long-term cash flows.
  • Participates in the budgeting process and provides financial information and consultation to Finance Leads. Monitors assigned budgets and provides business unit leaders with guidance.
  • Performs analysis and plays a key role in preparing monthly and quarterly budget forecast submissions. Participates in operational review preparation and prepares detailed analyses.
  • Plans, monitors and recommends improvements to the budgeting system.
  • Develops appropriate financial models using financial analysis tools and methods, productivity measures and decision-making parameters to facilitate financial forecasting.
  • Assists with financial planning and modeling for McKesson Canada's 3 year strategic planning process.
  • Prepares monthly variance analyses and corporate reporting.
  • Provides team members with support and financial analysis with a focus on quality and accuracy.
  • Performs detailed analysis of for specific projects as required, including preparation of work plans, analysis, reports and recommendations.

Requirements 

  • Bachelor degree in Accounting, Professional designation (CA, CMA, CGA).
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in accounting, planning and analysis.
  • Excellent knowledge of Excel.
  • Knowledge of ERP systems and Cognos would be a definite asset.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities with a creative and innovative mindset.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management.
  • Ability to have a  broad business perspective.
  • Demonstrates a sense of urgency and timeliness.
  • Ability to manage change and be a team player.
  • Bilingualism (French and English).
