Human Resources Manager (#326445)

One of our clients in Woodbridge is currently looking for an HR Manager with a strong generalist background. You will be providing a full range of HR support to the leadership team and the employees. Previous HR experience in a manufacturing environment and a keen interest in health and safety are essential. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys managing day to day HR functions and developing and executing strategic plans to support business goals. More precisely, your principal responsibilities will be the following:

- Employee Relations: act as a point of contact for employees for issues such as policies, benefits; communicate new policies and procedures; resolve any employee relations issues; advise managers and employees on ESA and legislation; update and maintain the employee handbook
- Talent Acquisition and Management: develop recruitment strategies; support hiring managers during the recruitment process; advise and make recommendations to managers, on boarding and orientation; work with employees and managers on development plans; create retention and engagement strategies; oversee the annual performance review process
- Payroll, Compensation & Benefits: process payroll for a small group of salaried employees, ensure all compensation changes are accurate, conduct market research on compensation and make recommendations on compensation rates and plans; administer the benefits program; enroll employees in the pension program; provide assistance to employees; ensure all STD and LTD paperwork is completed
- Management Relations: act as an advisor and consultant to all mangers; coach managers to help them get the most out of their teams; assist with succession planning; design and implement the HR business plan; participate in management meetings
- Health and Safety: Participate in the JHSC; lead the investigation process of incidents; WSIB claims management, return to work, coordinate H&S training
- Other responsibilities: maintain all employee files, update the HRIS system; develop and update job descriptions; conduct employee surveys and develop action plans; coordinate and facilitate training



Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in Human Resources, with at least 3 years in a generalist role
- University Degree or College Diploma in Human Resources, CHRP is an asset
- Experience with processing payroll, administering benefits and RRSP plans
- Ability to develop trust; build and maintain relationships with all employees
- High level of integrity, straight forward approach and ability to inspire confidence
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong presentation skills
- Detail oriented, highly organized
- Knowledgeable about ESA, employment and health and safety legislation
- Strong problem solving skills, ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Experience with training and development
- Proficient computer skills: MS Office, HRIS systems, experience with Ceridian is an asset
- Able to travel within Canada and the US as required
