ORGANIZATIONAL DEVELOPMENT SPECIALIST
Joseph Brant Hospital is seeking an individual with a keen interest in Organization Development (‘OD’) and the promotion of learning services. Working in collaboration with JBH’s HR/OD team, this entry level position offers the opportunity to focus on services dedicated to training and development, performance recognition, change management and talent management. Supporting the Human Resources Business Partner – Organizational Development, the OD Specialist will work with a variety of key stakeholders and hospital wide staff to provide and promote the delivery of superior Organizational Development services while maximizing the efficiency, effectiveness and support from our HR/OD team.
This role will assist with on-boarding services, take responsibility for Hospital wide orientation and play a key role in the creation and implementation of professional development activities. The OD Specialist will be accountable for the ongoing development and maintenance of the Medworxx Learning Management System, will coordinate corporate events and assist in the facilitation of OD related sessions. You will participate on various committees and perform research, data collection and analysis on a variety of OD related services. This role will work closely with the hospital’s librarian and will play an important role in student recruitment. Regular and ad hoc reporting on metrics and various key measures will be required. The OD Specialist will collaborate with a variety of stakeholders working towards the achievement of departmental goals and quality improvement plans based on corporate requirements and customer and industry expectations. The OD Specialist will actively engage the inter-professional teams in implementing creative solutions that are aligned with the hospital’s strategic direction.
The ideal candidate has excellent presentation skills, is creative, detail-oriented, thrives in a team environment, excels in customer service, is flexible with a positive approach and has advanced computer and analytical skills. You have the ability to deal with multiple priorities through highly developed time management skills combined with the ability to prioritize tasks to meet high demands and timelines.
Your qualifications include: a minimum post-secondary degree or diploma in Organizational Development, Human Resources Management, Adult Education or equivalent; completed or working towards CHRP; minimum 2 years general OD or HR experience including talent management and OD projects; advanced skills in Microsoft Office suite and previous experience working with Learning Management Systems; adaptable to changing priorities, deadlines and procedures; strong attention to detail; strong interpersonal and diplomacy skills; approachable, good relationship builder, and able to network with a variety of internal and external stakeholders; demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to work with private and confidential material; professional attitude.
