Financial Analyst

altisProfessional is currently seeking a Financial Analyst with extensive experience with excel for our private sector client. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating financial reports for different departments in the organization and have experience in accounting and financial analysis.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Monitor cost variance and identify items that are exceeding the deviation tolerance and investigate the cause of deviation
  • Perform cost analysis, track & report product & customer profit margin analysis
  • Maintain cost control, ensure alignment of actual results within budget
  • Provide monthly performance metric and month end management reporting package, analyze and compare financial information to history data and budget targets, and develop benchmarks, financial forecasts, reports, analytical commentary while ensuring timely delivery of accurate information to senior management
  • Business analyst reporting requirements, conduct end user interviews and document business reporting requirements
  • Act as a super user in system implementation and enhancement project, strong sense of data and able to build data analysis modeling to provide business insights information to management team for better decision making
  • Assist in the plant standard costing, including establishing and updating costs in BOM anf validating cost of goods sold
  • Identify existing financial related internal control weakness and associated risk
  • Document accounting process and implement accounting policies and procedures relative to the finance/accounting functions, such as month end closing, credit control, A/R collection, A/P process, and financial statements preparation to ensure that appropriate controls and rules in accordance with IFRS are adhered to and maintained
Qualifications and Experience

  • College/University graduate, and at least 5 years work experience in Finance & Accounting and 2-3 years in similar roles
  • CMA, CGA, or CPA designations or near completion of one of these designations
  • Detail oriented and strong analytical skills
  • Ability to multi-task and able to meet deadline, good time management skills
  • Understanding product costing, various dimensions of profitability analysis, effective sales quotation analysis
  • Experience and background in Manufacturing and Consumer Packaged Goods sector an asset
  • Self-starter, self-motivated with proactive and process ownership focus
  • Strong interpersonal and communications skills
  • Ability to work accurately under pressure and tight deadlines and thrive in a fast-paced environment
