Job Opportunity

The Office of the Provost at the University of Manitoba seeks a dynamic leader for the position of Director, Integrated and Strategic Planning.

Requisition Number: 2759 

Job Description:

•Leads the Integrated Planning Team through the development and coordination of an Integrated Planning Framework that fosters effective academic planning, ensures alignment with University resources and does so within the strategic goals, priorities and action plans of the University’s Strategic Planning Framework.

•Responsible for the development and management of content for a comprehensive accountability monitoring system  that reports on progress toward the achievement of institutional goals and priorities.

•Provides strategic counsel to the Vice-Provost (Integrated Planning and Academic Programs) on progress towards the University’s strategic and integrated planning priorities.

•Fosters collaborative relationships with the internal campus community, and oversees the development of reports and presentations relating to Integrated Planning, Academic Planning and Strategic Resource Planning.

•Leads the University’s annual Strategic Resource Planning (SRP) process. 

•Ensures Senior Executive has appropriate information and supports for decision-making in relation to key University strategic planning processes. 

•Ensures consistency between the Strategic Planning Framework and Integrated Planning initiatives in support of SRP goals.

•Identifies targeted funding priorities, develops funding guidelines and principles, and oversees the administration of such funds.

•Coordinates completion of the University’s annual Estimates document and coordinates presentation materials for meetings with government officials.

•Attends relevant meetings with Provincial officials and prepares other reports relevant to budget, strategic and integrated planning as required.

•Performs other related duties as assigned or required.

Requirements:

EDUCATION:

•A graduate degree is required.

•Consideration may be given to those who hold an undergraduate degree with suitable and relevant experience.  

EXPERIENCE:

•Minimum five to ten years of experience in either a university environment or a relevant institutional setting is required.

•Relevant experience in integrated planning would be a definite asset.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  

•Must possess superior leadership and management skills.

•Must have exceptional organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills, both written and verbal.

 Must be an independent, analytical, diplomatic, professional, and collaborative leader.• Preference will be given to candidates with a thorough and extensive knowledge of the university structure, policies and procedures and complex budgeting processes..

•Ability to work under pressure and meet tight timelines.
