Reporting to the Director, the successful candidate is responsible for the management and execution of all health care capital projects at two sites as well as alteration, service and maintenance of all leased properties. The project manager is responsible for managing all project life cycle phases including initiation, planning, design, construction, commissioning and closeout using the appropriate tools and practices. In addition this role will be responsible for developing project policies and procedures in collaboration with the Director.
The incumbent is expected to contribute to creating a safe and healthy environment for patients, staff and others, working in compliance with the hospital code of conduct and the provisions of health and safety policies and legislation, utilizes protective equipment provided and identifies and reports hazards.

University Degree in Construction Management, Architectural or Engineering
5-10 years in health care construction projects
Solid understanding of building code
Good understanding of Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP) building systems
Thorough knowledge of legal issues and safety standards
Knowledge of health care Infection prevention and Control (IPAC) protocols
Excellent communication skills
Effective time management and goodwill building ability
Capacity to handle pressure
Ability to work independently and to exercise sound judgment
Strong focus on quality
