The Sales Assistant is responsible for supporting the Financial Advisors and working with other branch personnel in the development of new clients and servicing our current clients. The Sales Assistant's role is to support advisors in regards to all marketing, service and client relationship activities. The position will be responsible for providing the optimal level of service with clients, executing on transactions, processing paperwork, scheduling, preparing materials and follow-up for client appointments, and ensuring the Financial Advisors remain compliant at all times. Our Sales Assistant will be someone who is willing to go the extra mile for the company and the client and also take pride in one's work.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Service walk-in clients with general inquiries and respond to incoming calls from clients promptly and accurately
  • Ensure satisfactory resolution of client enquiries, coordinating responses with other departments as necessary
  • Responsible for referring clients to Financial Advisors as necessary and scheduling client-advisor appointments
  • Responsible for the completion of GIC, Mutual Fund and Segregated Fund processing by branch cut-off time
  • Complete paperwork such as T2033's, pre-authorized chequing agreements, address changes and ensure instructions are submitted by branch cut off times
  • Order paramedical evidence as required
  • Conduct weekly follow up of all outstanding cases and escalate as required
  • Forward applications and requested information to DFSI as required
  • In-force policy administration:
  • Process policy changes through DFSI
  • Obtain in-force policy information and statements as requested by advisors and clients
  • Respond to advisor and client inquiries
  • Support the generation and growth of sales as per the branch and advisor objectives
  • Maintain marketing materials, assemble client information packages and assist with marketing mail-outs and activities
  • Work in conjunction with the Branch Manager and the compliance department to ensure new compliance regulations are followed at all times

Reports to: Branch Manager

Qualifications

  • High school or College diploma
  • 3 to 5 years' experience in the Financial Services industry
  • IFIC License or CSC is an asset, but not required
  • Life License, Accident & Sickness License is an asset but not required
  • Detail-oriented and well organized
  • Strong general office skills
  • Customer focussed
  • Solid computer skills, including Microsoft Office
  • A strong knowledge of investment products would be an asset
  • Strong problem-solving skills, and ability to multi-task

Other working conditions: In the event the candidate does not have the appropriate License then it is to be obtained within 12 months of employment
