in the search for a:
Institutional Business Manager (Generic Hospital Pharmaceutical Sales)
This role will cover key hospitals within the major centres in Western Canada. As there is fairly significant airline travel associated with this position, the ideal candidate will be able - and interested in calling on key decision makers across the West.
As part of your role, you will develop personal/professional relationships with key Directors of Pharmacy within hospitals in your territory.
Where pharmacies use buying groups to purchase their generic pharmaceutical products, you will be vigilant for business opportunities. In the event that your competitors products are on back order within a hospital, you will leverage your established relationships with key pharmacy personnel to sell in your products and unseat the relationships and product listings of your competitor.
While attending conferences - you will be astutely aware of the "day to day" issues affecting your key pharmacy customers. While negotiating hospital pharmacy contracts you bring forward this gathered field intel to the tendering process. Creative thinking will help assure your success.
Finally, you will become "valuable" to your key customers so that when there is a buying opportunity, they look upon you as a key ally in their business decision.
This position can be based in Edmonton, Vancouver or Calgary.
You will come with strong business acumen - but more importantly, a "sixth" business sense that allows you to bond with your customers and leverage this business/personal relationship for business gain when appropriate.
Your background will include sales success and accomplishment coupled with examples of negotiation and competitive sales accolades.
This role is an exciting opportunity for the truly honed business professional who enjoys some degree of travel. Significant schedule flexibility exists within the role however and time in-lieu of is a big part of the company culture.
