Junior Law Clerk/Assistant – Family Law
Salary: based on experience

Our client, one of Toronto's distinguished boutique family law firms, is looking to hire a brilliant law clerk/assistant to provide administrative and clerking support to an extremely well established Family Lawyer. This is your opportunity to join a firm that is passionate about changing the lives of families for the better. This position will be supporting a Partner, proficient in all aspects of family law and disputes, and has participated in precedent setting cases! The successful candidate must have a minimum of 2 years of family law experience and be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism, while maintaining the ability to communicate confidentially. They must also possess superb drafting skills and have exceptional spelling and grammar. Primary Duties Include:

  • Preparation and editing of correspondence and legal documents
  • Calendar/schedule management
  • Act as main point of contact for client files, both internal and external
  • Maintain and organize client files
  • Transcribe dictation
  • Other general duties as required


Required Experience/Skills/Qualifications

  • Minimum 2-3 years of family law experience
  • Law Clerk Certification/Legal Assistant Diploma
  • Solid understanding of Family Law Rules and court filing processes
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to work well under pressure
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while paying attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal and client service skills
  • Confident and dependable, with strong initiative and ability to work both independently and in a team oriented atmosphere
  • Strong technical skills (Microsoft Office, PC Law and Divorcemate)
  • Flexibility to work overtime when necessary
