The Weir Marine Engineering division currently has a challenging opportunity for an engineer with experience in Reliability Engineering for its offices of Montreal (LaSalle), Quebec.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Develop naval maintenance policy and procedures;
  • Conduct process review and improvement projects;
  • Manage and review shipboard sensor data for problem investigation and maintenance purposes;
  • Support various equipment condition monitoring programs including Oil Analysis and Thermal Imaging (IR inspections);
  • Write technical reports and documents; and
  • Conduct physical tests of naval equipment including:
  • Design of test rigs / test apparatus;
  • Development of test procedure
  • Conduct of shipboard trials.

Person Specification – Job Knowledge / Education and Qualifications / Personal Attributes

  • Bachelor in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience;
  • 3+ years of experience as a Reliability Engineer and/or in one or more of the following areas:
  • Integrated Logistics Support
  • Condition Based Maintenance and techniques such as Oil Analysis, Thermal Imaging, Vibration Analysis, etc.
  • Reliability Centered Maintenance
  • Configuration Management
  • Team player, proactive and responsive who strive to satisfy the client;
  • Strong technical and analytical skills and ability to work without supervision;
  • Resourceful, imaginative and creative individual;
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail;
  • Time management and multitasking abilities;
  • Proficiency in writing technical reports and documents in English; and


Canadian citizenship, in addition to having resided in Canada for the past 10 years, are absolutely necessary as part of the requirements to obtain a government security clearance to the minimum level required for this position.
