The Director, Aeroplan Coalition Strategy and Planning is responsible for the development and implementation of the strategy for the growth of the Aeroplan program.  They coordinate the annual strategy and business planning process for Aeroplan  and works with multiple stakeholders across the organization to deliver on the strategic plan.   The Director will play a key role the evolution of the coalition of partners and in the on-going prioritization/assessment of new opportunities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Aeroplan coalition strategy
    • Identify key strategies to deliver on Aeroplan vision
    • Lead the annual strategy and business planning process for Aeroplan
    • Ensure alignment of the Aeroplan strategy with the overall Aimia strategy
    • Ensure strategic alignment between across the different business units
    • Structure and framing issues to enhance strategic decision making and make the case for proposed recommendations
  • Define the evolution of the Aeroplan coalition of partners
    • Define and own new and overall partner roadmap
    • Assess and validate new partnership opportunities
    • Coordinate the development of proposal for potential Aeroplan partners
    • Define the partner value proposition for the program
    • Collaborate with analytics and partner marketing to define/identify new data/analytics products to be offered to partners
  • Monitor program performance
    • Develop Aeroplan business scorecard reporting
    • Monitor & report progress against key performance indicators
    • Track & report progress against strategic plan
    • Package and present results of the Aeroplan organization
  • Oversee prioritization of initiatives and budget
    • Assess and prioritize new business opportunities
    • Manage in year re-allocation of budget based on performance and market evolution

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the direct development of strategic plans
  • MBA or a post graduate degree in a related field, preference for a business and/or finance degree
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Proven leadership skills
  • Results oriented
  • Proven organizational, planning and project management skills
  • Ability to work under pressure on multiple projects with tight deadlines
  • Management consulting experience an asset
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Deep understanding and expertise in loyalty marketing
