SENIOR PROJECT MANAGER (Civil / Infrastructure)

 

A world leader in the design, production and installation of custom engineered highway structures, precast concrete barriers, retaining walls, foundations and specialized infrastructure systems and equipment, requires a Senior Project Manager to oversee and direct the tasks of all departments including design, production, purchasing, shipping and suppliers / external resources. Projects will be primarily retaining wall and related precast products design and installation. Typical markets are highway infrastructure and private development.

 

NATURE AND SCOPE

Reporting to the Director of Operations the Senior Project Manager is responsible for completion of the projects on schedule and on budget as per customer requirements.

 

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Manage supply only or supply and install projects from Pre Bid to Project Closeout.
  • Review Contracts and negotiate the Final Terms and conditions of the contract and sub-contracts.
  • Prepare project cost budget, implement cost control measures and report progress of same.
  • Attend partnering and pre-construction with the customer and local authorities.
  • Develop complete project schedules for multiple projects including schedules for engineering, design, plant production and site material / services.
  • Obtain approval from various authorities for architectural samples, engineering calculations, shop drawings and Performance Tests.
  • Confirm production schedules with the manufacturing plant, 3rd party suppliers and subcontractors to meet or exceed demands of customer's delivery schedule.
  • Work closely with the Purchasing Department to schedule all deliveries of materials and services for products required which are related to client manufacturing group.
  • Prepare bi-weekly updates of cost reporting and schedule for each project.
  • Negotiate and process all Change Orders, Extra Work Orders with customer and manage changes with design and manufacturing.
  • Schedule deliveries and follow-up to ensure materials arrive on time and in accordance with both the Bill of Materials and Project Schedule. Schedule the flow of materials between plant and job sites as required.
  • Review / Prepare monthly forecasting schedules for delivery/revenue recognition.
  • Attend weekly production and bi-monthly planning meetings.
  • Work in compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulations.

 

FUNCTIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • 10+ years Project Management experience in the precast manufacturing industry or like experience in the civil or commercial construction industry.
  • Responsible for multiple projects, with individual project values up to $10+ million.
  • University degree (technical), preferred.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Power point).
  • Ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and written; bilinguality an asset.
