Find a Job Anywhere, Anytime with Workopolis Mobile
First job site in Canada to go mobile
November 6, 2008 – Hunting for a new job can sometimes feel like a job in itself – and sometimes it’s just not possible to be by a computer to continue your search. The process just got a bit easier with today’s launch of Workopolis Mobile, the new mobile version of Canada’s leading job site.
Job seekers simply need to enter mobile.workopolis.com into the web browser of their mobile device, and they can instantly search all of the jobs available on the Workopolis main site – but with the convenience of doing so on the move. And once you have found the perfect job, you can email it to yourself, or your friends, to apply for the next time you’re at a computer.
“Canada’s workforce is becoming increasingly mobile and savvy about services they can use when they’re not plugged in,” said Patrick Sullivan, President of Workopolis. “Workopolis Mobile gives job seekers the opportunity to access our job postings when, where and how they want to. It’s an added value for employers as well because their postings will automatically appear on the mobile version, thereby giving them access to hard-to-find candidates.”
According to a recent report from the Canadian Wireless Telecom Association, Canadian wireless phone subscribers numbered 20.1 million, representing a national wireless penetration rate of 62 per cent (March 2008).
Workopolis Mobile is a stripped-down version of the main site to enable easy access via mobile phones and PDA’s. There have already been nearly 100,000 visitors to the site from users on iPhones.
Workopolis is Canada's leading online career-solutions provider with over 3.3 million unique visitors monthly in Canada, the most posted resumes and twice as many job postings as the nearest competitor.
Workopolis provides a fully bilingual suite of industry-leading products and services including:
- Powerful Resume Database search functions and intuitive screening tools to help connect employers with the “best fit” candidates – contributing to a 71 per cent hiring success rate for customers.
- An inside look at niche industries with access to over 100 professional and trade associations.
- Career alerts, resume rescue and an online salary calculator to help job seekers find the right job.
Headquartered in Toronto, Workopolis has offices in eight Canadian cities. Workopolis is a partnership of Toronto Star Newspapers Ltd. and Gesca Ltd., the newspaper publishing subsidiary of Power Corporation of Canada.
Workopolis is the exclusive Official Supplier of Online Recruitment Services for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
