Q: I also place job ads in both the Toronto Star and the Globe and Mail. I know that these jobs get repurposed for workopolis.com. This means that the same ad is posted 3 times. How can I prevent this?
A: For our partners we can suppress all job ads coming from these newspapers. If you want this option or more information regarding this option, please contact Sales Support

Q: How do I make changes to my posting?
A: Log in at the Post Jobs link. A list of all your company's current job postings will be displayed. Click directly on the Job Title. Make the changes and click Post/Modify the Job.

Q: What is common text?
A: Common text appears at the top of all of your postings. Most companies use this for a description of their company. It is a time saving device so that you don't have to re-enter this information with each posting.

Q: What is the ScreeningRoom?
A: The ScreeningRoom™ is the place where we collect all the resumés from the applicants who have applied to your postings. The ScreeningRoom™ has many features which allow you to sort, filter, search, rank and shortlist the applicants. For more on the ScreeningRoom™ try the following QuickTour. Q: How soon will my job posting be posted on the workopolis community?
A: Your posting will be live on workopolis.com within the hour.

Q: How long can my job posting be?
A: As long as you would like it to be. A well-written posting should give the candidate sufficient information to determine if they have a skills-fit. In a competitive job market, the job posting should also give valuable candidates a compelling reason to join you industry and specifically, your company.

Q: I have used HTML within my job posting. Why is spacing strange?
A: While the posting form accepts HTML coding, it was designed for the majority of people who don't know HTML. Because of this the form reads carriage returns as page breaks. If your HTML also includes codes such as <P> or <br> for paragraph and line breaks, you may be seeing more spaces than you intended. The easiest way to fix this is to remove all codes for paragraph and line breaks.

Q: How can I find my job posting?
A: Do a keyword search and type in your company name. This is an easy way to find all jobs your company has posted.

Q: How do I ensure that my job posting appears in a FastTrack section?
A: To ensure that your job posting can be searched through the FastTracks, use the FastTrack search to look at the where you want your posting to appear. Use the same keywords in your job posting that are used for that FastTrack search. Note that many FastTrack searches target job title only. This means that you may have to use those terms within the job title of your posting. You can always describe further within the text of the posting the details of the position.
Our FastTracks are a very useful area for job seekers as it contains the most commonly or typically searched jobs, but it is not the entirety of workopolis.com. Job seekers also use the many search options available on the main search page.

Q: What is the difference between Job Category and Industry?
A: Industry represents the primary focus of your company. Job Category is specific to the position you are trying to fill.
