I am currently pursuing my PhD at ÉTS, and I can confidently say that it's been an exceptional experience. It highly depend on your supervisor. Search about your supervisor before starting to work there. There was not updated equipment for doing research. However, they provide a good service for industrial customers.

Great job, but you are faced with many tasks to accomplish, rather than feeling like you are doing security in a school you feel like your superiors are constantly watching you. and this makes the job less fun and and feel less support from your co-workers.

ETS is a good choice if you can't get in McGill or Concordia. The connection with industry is there but the student struggle to find internships nonetheless.

It was a good university for English speakers. It may be difficult to communicate with the registration office people as they do not respond to you in English but in French. The scholarships are much lower than the other universities for industrial engineers as I know. 

Excellent place for work/life balance and great friendly staffs to support your research and transition to the ETS life. Economical so affordable for the students, even though the salary or pay scale vary  a lot among different research groups.

You can learn everyday and always new things. The problem is that there is no union for researchers so almost zero security. There is no health insurance and permanent contracts so there is less about the future of the job.

I have been doing my research in the field of Industrial Engineering for two years, and I have been totally satisfied with this lively academic environment.

My boss is a nice guy he is very helpful. I like to learn new science here. He always behaves to me as a friend. He is providing me everything according to my requirement.

On premise work only, not so much flexibility but ok workload.  Some older technologies are still being used and slow to evolve systems.  Good insurance and benifits.
