Go to work and feel stressed that 
management are waiting around to reprimand you so they feel entitled and get a round of applause from their bosses.

I learn nothing other than to watch your own back

Management:
Horrible management (They try to catch you making a mistake hiding around machines so they can reprimand you to get a pat on their back from management)  Favouritism (Management picks and chooses new roles for their favourite employees to work, and not letting everyone else have a chance at advancement) If you're a production worker don't expect the management team to talk to you on the floor and ask about you in general (how you're doing, or how can we help you) they don't care about their employees.

Workplace Culture:
They say your safety is their number one belief but it isn't, Production output is. Management doesn't care about your safety if you can't put out required minimum for the day when you can't because machine reliability, or constant short handed, or no training on machine. They expect you to just be an expert on machine with 10+ years of experience all ready, and when you have a rough day on a machine good luck trying to talk to one of them they either wont listen or ignore you the next day. 

The Hardest Part of The Job:
Dealing with micro managing of employee's or hearing about what management wants you to do not from the source but through a sort of telephone like game; when all they have to do is tell you in person. However management doesn't want to be seen conversing with production operators so they don't hurt their image, they send their puppets to do it.

Best part of day is leaving the plant and not having to think about that place till next shift. Only reason I'm still there is because compensation. 



Working at the Brockville 502 3M plant felt like a prison sentence. 
Your experience will be completely based on your co-workers. I worked with a few people who became great friends but as soon as you get a good rapport with any co-workers, you will be separated to different lines or shifts. 
Our associates were completely unsupportive and abusive. When a new associate was brought to our line they treated us like slaves. We were told we weren't allowed to speak while on the line at all. If we did, we were yelled at and separated. We were told we could not touch machines which we were trained to use, but also if we didn't immediately respond to the machine issues were were again, yelled at. One weekend I was left alone to run the line for hours as my associate took 6 hours of break over two shifts, then the associate came out from the break room because they saw me struggling to keep up and they called me "pathetic and childish." When I brought this to my supervisor nothing was done. Two months later the same associate started yelling at me for no reason at the end of our shift bringing me to tears, and had two shifts before brought another worker to tears. We went to our supervisor asking for something to be done about the bullying and abusive environment which which was having a massive effect on our mental well being, nothing was done and the associate then made a complaint about me using my phone (which I left in my lunch bag) and I was "no longer needed" at the plant with immediate effect, even after working at the plant for over a year. 
The supervisors have nothing to do with the contract workers and do not oversee how the associates and full time workers treat them. Not all, but many associates view the contract workers as second class citizens and treat them that way. 

I DO NOT RECOMMEND WORKING IN THIS PLANT.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
“A typical day involves starting with checking my tasks and priorities, then completing assigned work efficiently and safely. I work closely with the team, communicate when needed, and make sure all duties are finished on time to a good standard.”

The bulk of my day revolves around ensuring that - when requested - a customer has access to a set set of products, at a pre-determined waterfall of pricing conditions. These rules are set out by our Pricing Specialists, and it is up to my colleagues and I to maintain these rules to ensure optimal accuracy and avoid price leakage. Beyond these 'listings', and setting up pricing for new products, I am also responsible for creating mass-buy lists, which typically involve five thousand customers or more, and ten to twenty of our biggest-selling Sales Districts. It is a very routine job, but when faced with new challenges - be it software updates, new procedure etc... - we as Pricing Maintainers work very well as a collaborative unit to strive to find the most effective new way to adapt to and evolve from these challenges as they unravel.

I worked as a temp for 3 months in the tape plant. I got along great with the other employees except for the person training me. Management was very poor. My supervisor never called me by my name. It was always either sweetie or hun. The person who trained me, clearly didn't want to train anyone and was not a team player. I found myself just learning by watching and if I asked a question, I would be told to do as he says. He was also a temp who has been there for 2 years and all the temps he has previously trained had been hired full-time so I assume he was bitter about that and didn't want to train anymore. When I spoke to my supervisor about the situation, I was told he would talk to him about it. 2 days later, I mentioned it again and he still hadn't spoken to him. The next day, while I was on break, I got a call from the placement agency saying that I wasn't needed anymore...while at work! I went directly to my supervisor's office and he lied to my face saying that I never went to him about the issues I was having with my co-worker. 
I wouldn't recommend anyone work there unless you enjoy being treated like snot 12 hours a day for $14 an hour!!!!

As Operations Supervisor I was in charge of all shipping lanes.  This included picking, and packaging product, working with inventory levels, handling dry ice materials and oversee 35 employees.
Typical day started at 6:00 am and I started by
looking over the days orders, check dock with staged product, checked orders of shipped freight from previous night, checked for error orders, check inventory levels, ran daily meeting, reviewed the agenda for the day, and advised what areas needed special attention, handle workers and conflicts, walk the floor, see who needs help, daily go and see each worker, get feedback, check orders hourly to meet shipping deadlines, process workers hours from the previous day, manage breaks, reported any mechanical breakdowns, ordered pallets

The hardest part of the job was the very long hours and lack of support from HO.

I have worked in several factories now and would dissuade any family/friends from ever applying to this Brockville location specifically. Continental 12hr rotating shifts are the norm, unfortunately, in the manufacturing/production world and 3M is no different. The shift length and schedule rotation is the least of this plant's worries, though. Terrible team culture, little to no actual training, lack of leadership across all departments, and a complete disregard for employee well-being and safety in some high-risk areas all contributed to a less than okay work experience. Not every production line has the same level of risk, but each that I saw and took part in had outdated safety precautions or none whatsoever. Avoid this if you value your well-being or want to make it past 2 decades of factory work. There is no excuse for leadership to undervalue the safety of their teams and workspace.

Terrible management decisions from the top down quickly destroying what was once a great company. Management is rewarded for bullying and tearing down their employees.poor to no attention paid to employees opinions , constant threats of layoffs making for a cut throat culture

In charge of Warehouse Inventory stock
 	Processing Purchase orders A/P Sales people requests
Communication with the Sources of Supply for the best production and lead time
Deciding the shipping method  (Air/Sea) according to the volumetric weight and the PO value and the clients’ need
Handling paper work for imported goods (COO, Original Invoice, BOL, Purchase  Order) and following-up on the customs clearance process
Creating E-RFEs for the Customs and Clearance and Taxes
Transportation of goods from the Airport/Seaport to the warehouse & clients
Scheduling orders pickups and deliveries (with clients)
In charge of billing (Delivery notes and Invoices creation to be delivered and signed by the clients)
Creating Errands 
Fulfilling customer's inquiries

3M oversold and under delivered. 
The culture is terrible. They used to have a lot of contractors, like 100. The full timers treated the contractors like garbage. As if they were better than them. Now there is no contractors.
Management/supervisors only talk to production workers if they want to complain about something. Otherwise they walk right by you without acknowledging your existence.
A large portion of income is related to a 12 hr shift premium. If they don't like you they can stick you in a dept thats only on 8 hr shift. Or if business drops they can switch everybody to 8's and cut the shift premium. They're able to reduce their wages GREATLY before having to lay ppl off. Looks better in the papers. Keeps staff hanging on by a thread. Like dangling a carrot.
