Your peers as a CRP are awesome and helpful, but because the company is so profitable, its management has failed to adapt to underlying issues with regards to retaining its employees. 

Any extra tasks usually fall on the CRP to deal with, along with increased workloads due to sick calls and employee churn. 

If you have a family and other outside obligations beyond just the job itself, look elsewhere for employment. It will not be a good fit. You will have a shift start time but no defined end time. 

There are mitigating factors that contribute to longer than regular shifts, but often those factors are due to inside failures rather than site delays or traffic. Bad equipment, bottlenecks at dispatch times, lack of defined SOPs when visiting new and complicated sites etc. 

The managment understands the employment standards surrounding their industry and they will be leveraged to the advantage of the business, while disregarding reasons why many employees would move to another company after gaining some experience. 

There is no transparency in what constitutes good job performance metrics or what key performance indicators are. 

Your suggestions for improvement to increase, productivity, reduce employee attrition, improve customer CRM and a standardized briefing and workflow process for CRPs visiting complicated and or sensitive work sites will fall on deaf ears. 

It is apparent that this managerial mindset will continue with the status quo until it becomes no longer profitable, or the very likely scenario is realized where the barrier to entry for new CDL holders in the industry is so expensive, and time consuming, that the rate of attrition of drivers is no longer sustainable.

I have seen a lot of people whine in their reviews regarding a work / life balance and saying it is non existent.  In my experience, a vast majority of the drivers park their truck to milk the clock, rather than systematically complete their route.  I have been able to complete ten hour routes in six hours and I am given the option to assist other drivers or go home.  The labour required in the CRP role is some of the easiest I have ever done, I wouldn't consider pulling a hose and delivering fuel a labour job, but it is still classified as such.  The management team generally consists of tenured staff who have advanced within the company, so they do have background knowledge of what it is, and the team they are leading.  The workplace culture is decent, but could be better, the CRP's all get along, but there is a lack of buy in from CRP's regarding safety policies and procedures.  Everyone wants to work as fast as they can so they can park the truck and have a two hour break, all at the expense of safe driving and safe fuel delivery procedures.  I would say the hardest part of the job is coming in to messy trucks and dealing with low functioning CRP's with a low capacity or poor work ethic, always trying to do the absolute least amount of work.  The most enjoyable part of the job is being on your own, having the autonomy to complete your route as fast or slow as you like, without having management over your shoulder.  Overall, I would highly recommend working for 4Refuel, the wage is decent, the work is easy, and there is comradery amongst the team for the most part.  

I have been working at  as a Certified Refueling Professional (CRP) since June 2025, and my overall experience has been very positive.

A typical day at work involves ensuring safe and efficient refueling operations while following proper procedures and safety standards. Over time, I have learned the importance of responsibility, time management, and maintaining strict safety practices in a fast-paced environment.

The management team is friendly, supportive, and understanding. They treat employees with respect and are always approachable when needed. One thing I really appreciate is that workers are not unnecessarily pressured, which creates a balanced and professional work environment.

The workplace culture is strong, with a clear focus on safety and teamwork. Clean uniforms are provided weekly, and pay is always on time, which shows the company’s commitment to its employees.

The hardest part of the job can be working in different weather conditions and managing physically demanding tasks at times. However, the most enjoyable part is the supportive work environment, the emphasis on safety, and the sense of responsibility that comes with the role.

Overall, it has been a great experience working here, and I look forward to continuing to grow in this role.

Where to start, all management at this company and I mean all, are grossly incompetent, lazy and party! You are to work unending overtime without a moments notice. You will be forced to work with substandard equipment in a constant state of disrepair and being held together with zip ties and duct tape. Only the cheapest of equipment and supplies are provided to begin with. The manager expects you to work with cheap Chinese gloves in the -40° winter and will give you some dollar store gloves to wear under them if you ask for warmer gloves. The manager does as little work as is possible and will run home as soon as possible and for his favourite employees they will have the easiest workload possible as well. When sending you to a new job site, no site assessment or any prior knowledge whatsoever is given or known, you’re expected to figure it all out on your own upon arrival and call and deal with the client as well. I could go on forever but suffice to say it isn’t the greatest place to work. This will never change as the upper management is quite happy with this sort of performance as long as he continues to come in under budget at the expense of the basic necessities for the people doing the work. Long story short the pay is decent but all else is GARBAGE!!

I worked at this company for years breathing in diesel fumes and under paid compared to the rest of the industry.

They load you up with more than a standard days work and then complain you are taking longer than a 10 hours and review your gps to micro manage how long each job took, what route you took, and will write you up for being sick and having to stop to use a bathroom. Or just being sick in general, you’re not allowed to miss any days, Dont have sick pay, Dont pay proper ot, expect you to work weekends, nights, holidays, or pretty much start at random times on whatever day they say. 

They preach safety, but it’s just to blame you if something happens. You have to throw the fuel hose over fences and drag it out hundreds of feet through getting snagged every 2 feet on rebar and sharp construction material that can puncture the line to put 50 litres in a tank, and if you bring it up to management to ask sites to make stuff more accessible, management will send company wide emails to humiliate you. 

Overall,
Horrible company to work for, horrible management, horrible supervisors, horrible work load, horrible toxic fumes to be breathing in and getting on you ever day. 

One of the WORST working experiences you can get! Hard workers need not apply they cater to slackers.
The harder the worker you are, the more work you get and expected to help the slackers out.

They can let you go without notice while the slackers keep their jobs! 
4Refuel and its managers are the WORST in the industry completely uneducated lack people skills and don't care about their workers well being .

I even heard a manager say to me they don't want to hire people with young families because they expect you to be on 24/7 notice.

If you're scheduled to work monday-friday don't expect weekends and holidays, that's for these moronic managers .

They even have poor dispatchers that are from the other part of the country and get transfered to a local city like Montreal or Toronto and know nothing of the area but when you try to tell them their routing is incorrect they don't listen or care.

This company is on its way out, way better places to work.

I worked here for almost 3 months always showed up to work worked 100% covered other drivers calls they could not handle on there own 2 days before the end of my prohibation period the terminate me with no reason at all. The general managers and supervisors take advantage and use their workers for what they can get out of them and let them go. This company is full of lies and empty promises they do not care about their workers and they are cheap and they cutt corners all the time. In the interview I had they told me the care about ur personal and family time and that i can start at 5pm to 3am so i acccepted the job as time went on i realized this was all a lie they forced me to come in at 3pm everday made me work over my hours then complain about it. My advice to anyone applying to 4Refuel is 1) do not believe a word they are saying because it is not true. 
2) stay away from this company the will use you for 3 months to a year and toss you like a bag of garbage. 

This company is 100% cheap and dishonest ans very twisted.

this place has changed a lot for the better in the passed two years. They care about they’re employees and communicate well as I see it. Some of the long term drivers complain only because they don’t like change and can’t cheat on hours or cut corners anymore. The complaining is mostly cause they can’t get away with the old way of doing things. Big safety improvements and focus. i feel protected here because of job security and company growth. Management is pretty good along with upper head bosses who are nice in Vancouver and Toronto. Benefits are good and pay isn’t bad at all. Trucks breakdown fairly often but that’s most places unless you’re long haul and only on the highway. The hours can be long but that’s also where the big paychecks come from so I never get why people complain about working longer but also want a bigger paycheck from OT. Makes no sense. I’d say this cumpany is a good place TO work overall! 

I’ve been working at 4Refuel for the past five years, and it’s been a truly rewarding experience. If you enjoy a fast-paced, active work environment, this is the place for you. The company keeps you on your toes, and there’s never a dull moment—which I really enjoy.

The management is supportive and professional. My manager, in particular, has been excellent—always approachable and encouraging. The team around me is made up of great people who are reliable, hardworking, and fun to work with.

4Refuel also offers excellent benefits, a strong pension plan, and great pay. They really take care of their employees, and it shows. I’ve grown a lot professionally during my time here, and I’m proud to be part of the team.
