One of the biggest concerns I had with 4Seasons was the workplace culture that was reinforced during training. From the beginning, there seemed to be a fear-based approach. Trainers frequently emphasized that drivers must wear their safety vests at all times because supervisors could be parked behind the driver's homes watching them. We were also told that supervisors could be observing us from another bus or from an unmarked personal vehicle, meaning we would never know when we were being monitored.

Similarly, while I fully agree that speeding is unacceptable and safety should always come first, the messaging around it often felt intimidating rather than educational. Statements such as, "Don't speed because you do not want to get a message from dispatch. Trust me, you do not want that," created an atmosphere of fear rather than one of support and accountability.

Another issue was the lack of support from supervisors. During training, we were repeatedly told that the team was always available to help. However, my experience was very different. Requests for assistance often went unanswered, whether by text message or through other channels. Supervisors rarely visited schools to address ongoing concerns, and on the occasions when they did respond to a request for help, the interaction often left me feeling discouraged from raising concerns in the future. Rather than feeling supported, I frequently felt guilty or shamed for speaking up about legitimate issues.

Additionally, whenever I visited the office, it was common to overhear members of  staff speaking negatively about drivers. This happened often enough that it contributed to an overall sense of discomfort and a lack of respect within the workplace.

When I first started with 4Seasons, I genuinely enjoyed the job and was optimistic about the company. Unfortunately, that positive impression did not last. Over time, the culture, lack of support, and overall work environment led me to decide that leaving was the best choice for me.

Horrible managed company!  They are not what they claim to be.  They are all nice at first to get you in then you will see all the deficiencies. 
Drivers get paid basically min wage.  $47.00/per run.  Meaning, paid only if you drive that morning & afternoon $94.00/day.  Sounds good in theory, but you work aprox 6 hours/day, more than the so called 4 hours/day that they claim. This does not include all the hours you put in on your own time.  Bus aides only get just over  $70.00/day, this is less than the now legal $15.00/hr wages.  Remember, it is NOT 4 hours a day when including travel time and extras.  
EXTRA ITEMS INCLUDE:  Pre-trip bus inspection, training on your time (they call it free, but time is money), long hours in traffic, you are basically stuck in morning & afternoon rush hours, they pay you via "paper pay cheque" not direct deposit so you have to pick it up every 2nd Friday and wait for it to clear at your bank, bus maintenance appointments, paperwork, picking up/meeting/dropping off your bus aide or bus aide driving somewhere to meet their driver,  fueling your bus, cleaning your vehicle.  These are all things done on YOUR time.  Drivers basically work aprox 6+ hours a day in total.  Winter this gets worse.  You can get lucky and have a route or school near your home, so not all routes are as bad as others, hours worked depends on your route.  
The training does not train you for the realities and knowledge you need for dealing with children with mental and/or physical disabilities.  
The so called "perks" are miniscule.  They may only apply to those who have kids and enjoy tiny things like a free lunch when picking up your paycheck.   If you live close to the airport to get there for a bit of food.  
High turnover, this is a sign of poor management and working conditions.
There has also been a times when you did NOT get paid on your payday!  Excuses are made by the office staff.  They also make errors on your paycheques at times.
Bus drivers get a gas card, van drivers have to pay for gas out of pocket then get reimbursed.

I applied at 4Seasons in good faith. When I got to the D.A.R.T. program, they decided to offer me a route before I had finished my 'S' Endorsement. Then my nightmare started. There are 2 supervisors. The first one was a fluent liar. She dropped the bus off by a group home and left the keys in the bus unlocked. Her communication style, is arrogant and abrasive. She had no leadership skills; and had serious control issues. I could not ask questions because she kept interrupting me. She lied and said that it is a cushy, stress free job; and my attendant(who rides with me) takes care of everything else - IT IS THE SELLING PITCH!
This route carries passengers that ALL have Autistic Spectrum Disorder. Although I am not a health care professional, one of the passengers(16 year old male adult) has Pathological Demand Avoidance, comorbit with Oppositional Defiant Disorder. Before I quit, the male adult who was twice my size had thrown his winter boots at me; spat in my face twice; broke out of his 5 point harness 3 times; and finally, I ended up having to use force to restrain him to protect the other 4 passengers on my bus. I never received any training on how to handle such situations. Moreover, the legality becomes complicated because at no time was there any documentation allowing legal permission to have physical contact with the passengers. Despite numerous incident reports(verbal and written), my supervisors gave me deaf ears. THEY WERE COMPLETELY INDIFFERENT to my concerns. This should be enough information. To protect myself, I told this incident to a local police station. They said I had nothing to worry about because I was left with no choice but to restrain a mentally ill person. So the physical contact does not constitute assault. So to the person reading this. You make your own decisions whether you want to work for this company or not. Life is after all about free will - isn't it?

A family-owned business where the CEO serves as the face of the company, excelling in marketing but lacking insight into its operations. The company is largely controlled by the CFO, who also lacks industry knowledge. The workplace is dominated by family members and friends, creating an environment resistant to change. Outsiders aiming to implement positive changes are unlikely to thrive, as the company clings to its outdated ways. They still operate like it’s the 1980s, with overcompensated employees and constant “emergencies” defining their culture. Internal family and office politics are overwhelming, especially for management positions.

While they claim to seek experienced professionals, they have no intention of leveraging their expertise to improve operations. Decisions to replace employees are often made within two weeks, influenced either by family employees resisting change or by the need to accommodate a relative or friend of the CEO or CFO. This environment is not conducive to growth or success. Though they may lure you with high pay, the chaos and lack of direction make it a risk not worth taking. Stay alert and proceed with caution!

If you are looking for a job that is rewarding, and you want to feel you are making a difference, you will love this job. You meet so many amazing people - the kids, their families, other drivers, teachers and assistants at the school who help with the kids. 

The company culture is extremely positive, inclusive, and team-oriented. The company has team-building events, and the training and occasional coaching are always supportive. 

Like all school bus driving jobs, the wage isn't high, and it’s a split shift with several hours in between, depending on the school board, your route, etc. Typical pay is $19/hour, paid 6 hours per day, plus you can earn additional pay covering other routes in between your morning and afternoon shifts, if you want.

If salary is the most important factor, this may not be the ideal job, but if you're looking for a position where you build bonds with kids and their families, have laughs with kids on the bus, and feel that you're helping families and children living with disabilities, you will love this job.

Most everything done at 4 Seasons is for the kids.  From the specialized training to the daily bus rides, these precious kids are priority.  

Wonderful family atmosphere at the office.  Child care provided for most training (free).  

Room to grow!  I worked with another transportation company for years and never got anywhere.  If you are happy with part-time hours (NO evenings or weekends or holidays), then there's a position for you.  If you would like to grow with the company and become full time eventually, then there's room for you.

As with any fast-growing company, there have been hiccups along the way.  Most have been quickly corrected, and as of Nov/18, there is a whole new standard of professionalism that I'm super proud of.

Part time work as a whole equals high turn-over.  People find full time hours and move on.  The same was said at the other transportation company I worked for.  This is not a 4 Seasons issue alone.  It's a part time issue.  4 Seasons has a social committee like I've never seen before.  Zumba classes, kids movies and popcorn, Saddledome ticket give-aways, incredible year-end picnic, etc.  All for our people - our family.

Best move I've made in years!

This company provides a welcoming atmosphere and very helpful staff!  I have learned so much working with the company and special needs students.  The fact that this company prevails as the ONLY busing company to service strictly special needs individuals warms the heart.

You would have to be a horrible selfish person to write anything but positive reviews about 4 Seasons Transportation.  I couldn't ask for a more rewarding job! 

It is IMPRESSIVE to see a company have so many long term employees ranging from 2-8 years in this industry.

Anyone who works for this company I feel is truly blessed, you start out thinking how much these special needs individuals need your help, when in fact it is us who need theirs!! 

This job has average pay compared to any other transportation company. 

 As in all companies, former employees have many things to say about the place they left, usually negative.....and that's okay, we need compassionate people so take your negative nelly attitude and leave!

A typical day at work involves supporting children during transportation, ensuring their safety, comfort, and positive behaviour while commuting. I learned effective child interaction skills, patience, communication, & teamwork while working closely with staff & management. The management is approachable, supportive, & always willing to guide and help when needed. The workplace culture is friendly, respectful, & feels like a family. The hardest part of the job is managing children with different needs & behaviours while maintaining safety at all times. The most enjoyable part is building bonds with children, seeing their progress, & working in a fun, caring, & a positive environment.

Some say find a job you love and you will never work a day in your life.  Well that’s how I feel about being a transport care specialist.   Once my body adjusted to the early mornings working for 4 seasons has been the best job opportunity I have every had.  I feel I am truly making a difference in the lives of children and their families I transport.  Every day is something new and rewarding. Even now as I write this review I’m smiling reminded of the good times I have had.  Prior to employment the company put me thought multiple training courses including a in-depth CPR, AED, first aid and mental health course. A Week long Drivers awareness course. A in person and online support courses on securement and supporting the kiddos that took about 7 hrs to complete.  I’m not complaining I was impressed.  The courses especially the driver’s courses gave me the skill and confidence to be the best TCS I can be.  I feel that everyone at 4 Seasons Transportation from the owners to the employees truly are proud of the work we get  to do. 

In my days work, everyday is worth it. It almost doesn't feel like 'work' most time; it feels like a reward knowing at the end of my shift, I have given the children I drive a safe, reliable, and comfortable ride to and from school. I've learned over the past year, that the parents and their children appreciate and value the service I provide everyday. Some days, in difficult situations; being hit, pinched, kicked etc isn't the child's intention, it's their way of communicating their emotions, and once I've calmed the situation down, I see the smile they were looking for prior to their melt down. I feel proud of myself, and if them for getting through the problem together and finding the solution they are happy with.
