ACE COURIER SERVICES

Worked there as a call dispatcher for a few days and ended up walking out. Sure they offered me $17/hr, but it wasn't even worth it. The training was almost nonexistent, the loading bay office was filthy, keyboards, phones, and chairs had dirt and grime all over them. The manager was okay, not a bad guy but had a bit of a temper and made the environment uncomfortable and hectic. He was clearly in way over his head (understandably so) and couldn't handle the workload, letalone training me properly. Didn't provide me an assigned workspace, my desk was barren and drawers were locked. Also, random people from the warehouse and other departments would just stumble into the office and use any unlocked computer to do work (no security) or just hang out and waste time for a few minutes. One of my coworkers sat there at the desk with their head down, sleeping, texting, or watching Netflix on the computer, all while taking fewer calls than me and letting the phones ring for extended periods of time, manager allowed them to do this. You only had 30 mins unpaid break time total, and had to stay an extra 30 mins every day to make up for it. In the time I worked there, I hadn't even been given the chance to sign my new hire paperwork so I might not even get paid, even after requesting we address it- the HR person "wasn't there" both times for whatever reason. They also used an old time card punch system and had no direct deposit for employees payments in place. I even overheard them struggling to keep employees sent out through temp agencies.  No future there, would strongly recommend looking elsewhere, don't let the flashy $17/hr trick you. Truly an abysmal, disappointing place to work, this company branch is definitely going under in a few years or less.

*   A typical day is rife with personal safety hazards. Provided with 
    inadequate equipment (or inadequately maintained equipment) to 
    safely do the job and told to "figure it out". 

*   Blame-based management style. Heavily confrontational. 

*   Many good people work for this company. However, there is little to 
    no training, possibly a result of high turnover. Dated operations, very 
    little streamlining. A lot of redundant/unnecessary work as a result. 
    No SOPs. No job descriptions. Many employees are heavily stressed. 
    Team morale is very low.

*   The most difficult part of the job was the endless, sweeping 
    operational changes that seemed to change on a whim. The 
    management style often made it difficult to maintain a positive 
    attitude. Vacations are few and far between. Pay increase structure is 
    non-existent.

*   The most enjoyable part of the job was working with some of the 
    team members, weekends and holidays off, and building 
    relationships with customers. Pay is fair for the positions. Benefit 
    package is a budget package, but one is available for some positions.

    I would not recommend Ace Courier Services Ltd.

The pay is pretty pathetic, the raise process is solely based on yearly company profit and peanuts trickle down (usually about 50 cents a year) you will be overworked, under appreciated, certainly not working in worksafe regulations, your duties will likely include driving and you get absolutely nothing. No BCAA card, no spare tire, no tire pump, nada. Everything not supplied you must bring and reimbursements are a nightmare. Your vehicle maintenance reports basically mean nothing as this will be heavily neglected no matter what you say. The owner is quite old and stubborn is how it’s been explained to me, so nothing will change and the company has a long way to go.

I'll start off by saying. If you aren't a favorite, your job at Ace is not safe. I was "laid off" so that a former employee could come back into the role.
A typical day was answering questions from customers, making arrangements to pick up shipments, tracking packages via an extremely outdated system, completing paperwork, assisting customers that came to the workplace, and operating the forklift. 
Management has a bit of a soft touch and doesn't provide any sort of backup. There is no integrity and lots of favoritism.
I know it's "just business" but if you have any sort of integrity, avoid Ace Courier.


I would rate Ace Courier a 5 star establishment to work for.Management were always courteous and helpful and always very pleasant. My co-workers were also very courteous and friendly. My typical day at Ace Courier was to contact clients with overdue accounts and to politely seek payment from them. i would work with data entry with way bills as to which i also enjoyed very much.  i learned how to enter data at Ace Courier and the significance with way bills. I learned how to file in a very organized system.  I did not find anything difficult about my job with Ace Courier.

Bowshit not cool wants to much out of a person to worried about products  not staff and what  they put  u through  overworked

Always making u work more then u should not letting  up which is fine if you're  not over work or tired

Not to bad if the boss  is not there then there no tension always swearing at everything mad at every  body

OK if there  a smile in the shop when we get there then it's ok

Trash company 
No medical till after 1 year no raise like promised after 3 months 
And let go for no reason 
Management sucks

Everything!
Expect you to run your feet off for 20$ and hour 10 hour days

Horrible! So toxic!
If you don't answer in the seconds they call or text you get harassed

Garbage garbage

Manager was great to get along with and we became good friends after not too long which made the job enjoyable.  As stated earlier we had a scheduled run to do each day and we formed friendships with our customers and looked forward to talking to them about their day and such. Was a small company with only 3 people so not much friction between any of us at all.

Old school type of department.  I was in the financial end. No email at my desk, no music to lighten the day.   You are given your work every day, not allowed to be proactive in your duties, follow the guidelines of the office manager whether it wasn't right in your opinion.   Your opinion doesn't count.  Just key the information in the system and keep your mouth shut.  Get all the cheques, eft's or payables done in a timely matter every day, nothing is held over to the next day.   Keep your desk clean of paperwork.

Great staff. They are still like family 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Finding room to haul everything properly. But with expert bosses who help it's easier.

Friendly and knowledgeable very helpful in all areas

I enjoyed working for the company.  The day was busy with loading and unloading trucks and making delivery to companys .
