Management does not listen to any concerns, is u supportive, and never offers any type of thanks or encouragement.  The evening and night staff are disregarded and has no support, help or say in anything having to do with our employment.  Management never lets the day staff run short, but evenings and nights is always short staffed. Staff is burning out from the work load. Residents are suffering.  There is favouritism and support for certain staff.  It’s toxic and negative and the evening and casual staff turn around is at an all time high.  Management even brings up the high cost of hydro and budget as to why they don’t staff the floor properly. 

So many valuable and hardworking staff have been burnt out here due to management, workplace bullying, and a union full of two faced people with only their own best interests at heart. It’s so sad as this was once such a pleasant place to work. the people who put their efforts and extra care into the work they do go completely unnoticed. There is a ridiculous amount of favouritism for the people who have been there the longest yet do the bare minimum. Management is so fixated on making everything look perfect to get those big numbers, so they put a blanket over the real issues and nothing ever gets resolved. 

Often working short, task oriented environment and not focused on quality time with elders.  
Long term staff take advantage of casuals and are very unfriendly. If you are not part of their click then you will find yourself with constant issues with staff. [bullying] 
Management never acknowledge their employees unless you have done something wrong. They will walk right by an employee and look at the ground  to avoid saying hello. 
After being employed for 2 1/2 years the Executive manager whom I seen daily had no clue what my name was. I was shocked and felt this to be completely unacceptable.

The whole atmosphere is very toxic here, staff are in cliques not a very welcoming environment. Management is even worse, never a “goodmorning” or “hello” from them they just walk by with their eyes down. They favour the bullies & even with many complaints from different workers,  there’s no punishment for bullies here. There’s a reason they’re no staff there anymore, things have really gone downhill in the last 3 years. Constantly short staffed, many employees getting hurt from heavy workload & being told to use less supplies so the company doesn’t have to spend so much money.  

What is the best part of working at the company?
Residents and care staff were awesome. 
Pay was a good wage. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
This HEU chapter was terrible not helpful to the union members and intertwined with management. Upper management is absolutely terrible bullies. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Mixed feelings here. One hand when rolling along staff was always fun and great team. Again union chairs not good and management toxic

What is the best part of working at the company?
They care about their employees. The facility is clean and always have enough supplies. 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Heavy workload and usually short staffed.

The staff all get along well and look out for each other. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy, but with team work we are able to get our work done

I was hired at arrowsmith on a whim just before the old manager resigned, I am ever so great full to have been given a opportunity to work at arrowsmith. I have never enjoyed a job more then I enjoy working at arrowsmith. The pay benefits, allowed time off and sick days are waaaay better then any job I've ever worked for. 

As prior reviews say, you make your day what you want ot to be. 

Arrowsmith is an amazing place to work, I'm sorry I had to leave.  Staff and management are amazing people, if the day is a little harder then others you always can depend on your fellow team mates!!! There should be more work places like Arrowsmith to work at, and management is great especially the DOC management !!!!

Management is horrible and rude they do not care about their animals or staff. Your seniority hours to be called as a casual do not matter  as they pick favorites. I feel horrible for all the people that still work there as well as all the new animals  they bring in. 

I really enjoy working for this community of residents, and enjoy there company. Also the kind caring co workers are an added bonus. You'll have ups and downs in every job,  so you make it what you want it to be.
