What is the most stressful part about working at the company?

The most stressful part of working at the company can be managing tight deadlines during peak periods. While the work environment is supportive, the fast paced nature of the job can create pressure to complete tasks quickly and accurately. Balancing multiple responsibilities at once, such as meeting financial reporting deadlines and ensuring compliance with company procedures, can also be demanding. However, the stress is often mitigated by the collaborative culture and the resources available to help employees stay organized and efficient

The work environment at the company is supportive, collaborative, and dynamic. It fosters a culture of open communication, where team members are encouraged to share ideas, ask questions, and provide constructive feedback. What is a typical day like for you at the company?
A typical day at the company involves a balance of focused, detail-oriented tasks and collaborative activities. I start by reviewing financial records and reconciling accounts to ensure everything is accurate and up-to-date. I also prioritize time-sensitive tasks, such as generating financial reports or completing bank reconciliations, to meet deadlines. Throughout the day, I engage with team members, either to discuss progress, ask for feedback, or offer support where needed. I regularly check in with my supervisor to review my performance and ensure alignment with company goals. Overall, my day is a mix of independent work, problem-solving, and collaboration, all aimed at maintaining the company's financial accuracy and efficiency.

If what you're looking for is a side job, earn a few extra bucks and play into your compassionate and loving side, working at Berwick is great for you. Because if you don't love working with seniors, the payoff will seem very minimal for the amount of emotional and mental effort you will likely end up putting in. They keep pay low, hours minimal (almost nobody except a manager gets full time), and keep employee recognition scarce. You will work with fabulous people, both coworker, manager, and resident-wise, but the company does not value its employees. There is also little opportunity for advancement within the company - most people become successful elsewhere before having a shot at a management position with Berwick. The hardest part of the job on the day-to-day can be working with residents; even though that is incredibly rewarding a lot of the time, you do have to remember that they are elderly people and you are serving them in their home, so the expectation can be high and sometimes unreasonable (and often above your pay grade).

Ultimately, working for Berwick was enjoyable in a lot of ways, and I gained a lot of talent and experience. But I don't see how anyone can afford to make this their primary source of income.

Great hours and everyone is super friendly to be around. Really enjoy working there.

So far, I’ve experienced no stress here and doubt that would ever be something to be concerned about. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Positive, fun and good camaraderie. No complaints at all. 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Arrive, log into my shift, prepare for the day by getting a few things together,  then inspect and get the courtesy car ready to go. Drive Berwick residents to their appointments while having some great conversations. Get them to their destinations and back safely.

Working at Berwick was honestly a very challenging experience. You are compensated quite well for your hard work. However, you will not always feel appreciated by the management or colleagues. The residents are generally very sweet and kind. However, the biggest challenge is definitely to be on top of things and carry top-tier organizational skills. 

When you make a mistake or error, you will very likely be confronted with that mistake. It might make you feel worthless and not deserving of your position. However, with time and practice, you will learn to get better to ultimately become a fantastic team member.

Unfortunately, there have been instances of favoritism and unequal treatment among employees, eroding trust within the workforce. Merit and hard work seem to have little influence on career growth or recognition, which fosters a sense of unfairness and discouragement among dedicated employees.

Moreover, the lack of appreciation and acknowledgment for our hard work is disheartening. We invest our time and energy to meet deadlines and achieve targets, yet our efforts frequently go unnoticed or unacknowledged. A little recognition can go a long way in boosting employee morale and loyalty to the company.

I found Berwick to have an exceptional culture. The people that work there are genuinely kind, caring and passionate about the work they do and it makes it a pleasure coming into work. Residents and staff are treated with respect and their voices are taken into account when decisions are made even at the highest management level. 

Berwick doesn’t just offer another job, it offers a community and life long friendships. 

Worked at BOL for 10 yrs, all of a sudden they decided to close the care unit, they say it is of lack of staff, what do you expect with an non empathic management, place is run like a corporate business with money being priority to the care of the elderly.  Don't bother applying as a care aid as the care unit is closing down within a year.  Workplace is very low moral and no support of management what so ever.  People are quitting in all departments, not a place you want to work in right now!

Berwick caught my attention because resident focused approach. I have been in health care for 25 years and have witnessed many disheartening things.
I feel I am part of something better now, to see our residents come first. Staff are not toxic and support each other. Being a new employee every person I have met has been kind and welcoming. Hardest part of the job is being responsible, but I am learning to let the pressure go and replace it with confidence.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Wonderful tenants. The building is beautiful the staff and management are lovely. The benefits are good and little staff perks are nice. There is a relaxed atmosphere at Berwick 

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not enough hours of work. The four on four off is not enough as well as the minimum wage they pay is not close to covering cost of living

Excellent. Beautiful property and warm staff

Busy with last minute requests from residents.  The culture is to try to meet all resident requests.
