Big Erics has been an established canadian company with head office in Atlantic Canada. Recent change to senior management have driven overwhelmingly positive changes to company culture. This is a team who care about one another and work hard. You do have to work hard and engage across all departments to work as a team, no sense of silos which is a welcome change compared to some other companies I have worked for. Pay is market rate, excellent health and other benefits, pension and other perks, fun industry with food demonstrations, events and vendors/manufacturers who are very involved with team. Industry customers are also hard working folks, mostly entrepreneurs, but also institutional customers, all are very dedicated with passion. Covid was hard on the industry but its rebounding. Would recommend this company as a positive place to build a career. 

Once of the best and most joyful place to work in Nova Scotia while learning and delivering. Friendly culture always led me to deliver the  best outcome.
Owners, Management and employees are treated as one family. Open Door Concept always welcome new ideas and always value you as a part of the team. 
Never ever felt job security issue while working there. One to One meeting with team leader makes you happy as you can discuss the problems/issues. It's not limited to Issues; we get the guidance to growth also.

Flexible working hours and other facilities (Company provided mobile and employee discount on Big Eris products) keep employees motivated. 

Few Occasions I was witness that some of the gifts received by Big Erics, re-distributed to employees as Big Erics believe that secret of success is human capital. 




Big Erics is an inclusive, team oriented company. I have worked here for almost nine years, and always feel supported in my position, and enjoy supporting my colleagues.  We work together in challenging situations, and help each other succeed.  Having stayed with the hybrid work plan after Covid is appreciated, and is a benefit. We all enjoy those special meals and teats from our Vendor's Chef's. As any employee working for any company, having a positive attitude is important to succeed and be appreciated. At Big Erics this is recognized.

You get your orders and pick them. Get them ready to go. You're not going to learn anything useful. There are a lot of people who complained about the warehouse manager but, from what I found, he was pretty good. Lot of disgruntled employees. Overall, my time there was good but, the pay wasn't the greatest, the other employees were lackluster, the supervisor was a power hungry dummy and there is a lack of engagement with people from other parts of the operation.

Senior Management can be ruthless at this place. Lack of communication, job security or culture makes for a "high stress for little reward" environment.
It is a shame, as many throughout the company are hard working and dedicated. If leadership spent more time on their people and work culture instead of being deceitful, distant, and disorganized, they may have a strong offering.

Bullying runs rampant and is fully ignored and actively participated in by Management 
Negative environment degrades employee mental health and overall morale 
No room for job movement, only those on at top get promoted 
Toxic atmosphere, unsupportive and ‘favorited’ behaviour by management 


A lot of work for little benefit.  The staff itself was great to work with but management lack any kind of consistency.  Little in way of benefits and work a lot of hours and commitment with no real reward.

Poor company culture.  Lack of vision from the top.  Managers who promise everything but deliver very little.  Promises of bonuses but they never happen.  Highly disengaged teams with very little team work.  Lots of Its not my job language.  A ton of turnover from the top down.
