I knew it will be a part time job and on contract but the offer says after training you get between 10 to 15 hours a week which is false. You lucky if you get over 8 hours. You can barely combine this with another job as the schedule are messed up. Some days you can get a 2 hour shift.$19 plus 1 dollar if you always on time paid monthly for a Bilingual position is just a crime. Giving that they train you for provincial parks plus national parks. With this economy you not even working for change money. The immediate management there are nice but have no clue what they are doing. I've started in November and got my immediate manager contacting me just a month later and didn't contact nor send a communication untill I resigned in January. I had no clue who were my teammates as I never saw any meeting happening.

If you have previously worked in a call centre, you will find this job very easy and straight forward. For those who haven't, it just takes a little more practice to learn, but the support is there. Call times will be the most important part of your performance... you will HAVE to keep them low. It's only stressful for a couple months in the summer when call volume increases. Students will find the pay acceptable or even good, but for older individuals, it's quite low and there are no benefits as it is a contract position.

Bad software, crashing all the time.

You are punished for providing quality customer service, if it doesn't fit within the maximum allowed time per call.  Lots of unsatisfied customers have to call several times in order to get all the information they requested.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
The training isn't sufficient. It's learn as you go. Additionally, speed is often prioritized over customer service. 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Everyone is excepted. Very welcoming 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
I log in and then the phone starts ringing. I usually take anywhere from 30 to 90 calls in a 4 to 6hr shift

Seemed great at first, but when peak season hit, unacceptable errors in the software were exposed that made it impossible to meet KPI. Poor management.

The management is normally not prepared to help you on the calls. They hire people to be manger who have been there for 6 months over someone who had been there for 3 years and were much better suited simply because that person was a favorite by the hiring manager. The CSA team is great except unless you make their team leader mad or upset your job becomes toxic.  I would be hesitant to work here if you struggle with mental health issues 

There’s a lot of information to get familiar with to effectively do the role, which can be overwhelming for a while. If you’re looking to shadow other departments, there isn’t much opportunity to do so. It’s a good job if you know little to nothing about IT, but there isn’t much room for growth since L2 roles have been limited since a restructuring of the company. Overall, it’s a decent starting company to get your foot in the door but don’t expect much more than that.

Camis provided a good environment for managing stress that arised from the nature of the job. They attempt to keep things fun and interesting, and have a good help desk who can answer majority of in-call questions. 
The hardest part of the job would be de-escalating angry customers, but this builds customer service and communication skills. Taking time-off during a summer contract was quite difficult, even when providing notice 2 months in advance.

I'm given plenty of responsibility on a daily basis. In order to succeed in our environment, one must be able to adapt to changes and be flexible, which I feel I have done quite well.

I take on as many challenges as I feel I am confident to take on, and although it may sometimes be difficult, I have plenty of support.

My work involves travel, which I enjoy, and I have the opportunity to plan my travel as well.

I really enjoy the opportunities I am given to put my skills to use. There is room to not be perfect all the time which really takes the pressure off and allows me to take a few calculated risks; an idea that has supported ongoing innovation. Camis is at the very heart, built on the values of being a good person. I often tell my supervisor that the reason I stay at Camis is that I get to work with kind people.
