CHEP Canada is a great learning place and no doubt a great working environment.
The management amply emphasizes on health and safety, company culture, standard operating procedures and focuses on customer requirements. There are training and refresher programmes for the employee to create an environment conducive to achieve productivity, quality, competitive cost and meeting customer satisfaction.
The employee are cooperative and work in a team to attain the key targets supporting the company to advance in competitive world.
Currently playing dual role in Operations Coordinator and Shift Supervisor and taken as challenge whenever the company needs my requirement to meet the business volume.

You must repair a minimum of 168 pallets per shift. The trainer was excellent. The supervisor was unfriendly and contradicted the trainer's instructions. You are expected to follow the specs (rules for when to repair a pallet), but you can't if you want to hit your numbers. Unfortunately, you must act like you follow the rules when a supervisor is over your shoulder until you are unionized after 640 hours of work. I would recommend this if you can tolerate the two-faced act you have to put on. 

Staff are friendly, minding their own business, and did not experience office politics. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said about management. Criticism offends them; talking to them feels like a competition; they expect respect and flattery. Do not provide guidance and support but will repremend you if they think your actions/words are critical of them. An attempt is being made to change the culture but without management reflection - change is superficial.

Work environment is was OK though it is not a family first culture

Motivate the troops, support team growth, support in customer facing meetings, diffuse situations, negotiate renewals, draft customer centric strategic plans

I am a sorter for CHEP in Levis, Quebec. The work is hard, but so is life. Its dusty, and loud. My job is to say if a palette is good or not. I'm paid 15 cents for one palette. I usually do 1700 to 2000 palettes in 7h hours of work. 

It pays well when you get after it, are healthy, in shape and have some grit. Actually its a very fun job. 

But, I say 99% of the fun comes from the fact that we have a super team here in Quebec. If it wasn't for the team, like everywhere else, it would be bad. 



I would start my day by either sorting pallets, or driving fork lift to load the sorter ,and empty trailers, I would have to repair pallets as well. Most of my co-workers are easy to get along with. Each has there own personalities.

The hardest part of the job was seeing how the supervisor would play favorites, and disciplines  one person for doing something and letting his friends do the same thing ,and not get in trouble.

It was also hard watching the supervisor sleep on shift for multiple hours .

I enjoyed working overtime the most .

If you want to work for someone who constantly makes you feel like you are a nobody than this job is for you! If you want little training so you don't have a chance to survive than this job is for you!
   Co-workers were great though, decent pay, benefits and profit sharing. But even with that its not worth working for them. Too bad because it would have been a good place to work if it wasn't for the service Center manager.

Place is Unsafe,Pallets stacked to the Roof,I have seen so many Accidents in the warehouse and near misses,Staff are all for themselves Not a Friendly Environment,Very fast Paced Forklifts passing each other at high speeds inches away from you,Very Very Dusty Warehouse,Don't even bother calling chep they never answer the phones!!!

Western Canada - Commercial Team is excellent - Western Canada Commercial Manager is the Best !  Very Competitive environment - monthly scorecard showing goals and your achievements posted for all to review. Goals attainable but requires hard work and travel. Excellent safety culture and general training. Bonus depending on your personal results and the overall company results.

Sort and repair pallets, inventory counts, and clean warehouse, I had the opportunity to learn how to repair hydraulics. Management at the workplace was very friendly, knowledgeable, also willing to give a hand when help was needed. Got along well with co workers, everyone worked as a team, hardest part of the job was physical part of the labor, the most enjoyable part of the job was the employees and how we all got along.
