Management sucks so much. Always vent out their frustrations on the lower, front line employees. Always mad which makes it uncomfortable to ask them a simple question. ALSO they favourite employees like no other (always favour the funny, outgoing, good looking ones).
No one trains u properly, they don't even have a routine for training. Just throw u out with an "experienced" colleague who forgets about half the stuff or doesn't take it seriously and basically set u up to fail.
Longest days of work ever. U have to stand in the sun/rain/thunder all day long. If u sit god forbid it's the end of the world. 
Some of the supervisors were the best while others were arrogant know it alls. 

Very eventful days- it was either fun and a breeze but when it went bad, it was one bad thing after the next- involving angry customers, rude managers or transactional mistake which literally left u in tears.

Stayed the entire summer at this job only because of my love for hospitality and tourism and my city Toronto. Loved exploring Toronto everyday, meeting amazing locals/tourists and showing off my city to them. 

The only other good thing about this job was some of the normal, humble drivers and co-workers that resulted in good friendships and memories.

Some days were absolutely the most brutal days. This job definitely brought a lot of people to tears. But that was more than made up for by the hours and pay, and how fun coworkers are. I hear that they cut down on staff this year and that really does show, management and supervisors seem stressed beyond belief a lot of the time. Some are nicer than others, be warned... even if you didn't make a mistake they'll act like you burned down a building or assaulted a customer... Hoping to go back this summer but honestly I will probably regret that about a month in when I'm sweating buckets or getting rained on and sworn at. Also seems like the better you are at the job the worse they treat you. I think I'm making it sound worse than it is though

The best part about working there were the co-workers, definitely some of the greatest people I have met in a workplace environment, it felt very comfortable with them. If you're going to be working in the summertime I recommend trying to start early before the season picks up (around mid-May) to learn everything before it gets super busy. The worst part about the office staff were the hours of the shifts. The hours that were given are long and start early and end late - and meant that you could be starting in the office at 7:15am or wouldn't be able to leave the office until 11pm. For people that live downtown, it's not too big of an issue. But many of my coworkers (including myself) had to commute at least an hour to get to the waterfront, so that meant either waking up at 5:30am or not being able to get home until past midnight. Overall a good job, but wouldn't work there a second summer if I could avoid it, the early shift multiple days back to back really drains a person out.

Ive never loved and hated a job so much. Giving daily tours and getting to meet people from around the world was an amazing experience.  The first couple years of working there was fab and i got to work with some amazing tour guides and develop my public speaking. However we were constantly bogged down with safety issues, working on old buses that would break down on a daily basis and working with numerous other limitations. During my 4th year there I refused to start my day on a bus that had broken down while i was on it the previous day, indicated it was a health and safety issue. They ensured me that it would be ok, that the bus was fixed. Lo and behold it broke down and i quit on the spot. 

Had the best time working here for two summers working as a tour guide. The base wage was minimum but you get commissions on sales that you make but more so the tips add a lot on to the wage. They will work with your availability and if you want to keep working in the fall, part time work will be available. Great people to work with. They have a reciporcal program with lots of other tourist places so you can get in for free or discounted. 

Very fast-paced environment no matter what your role is. There's never a dull moment - and that can be a good thing or a bad thing. While I enjoy the challenge and it helps the time pass by quicker, the environment and job culture are not supportive or appreciative of the efforts you put in. Pay is not the greatest, considering the amount of work you're expected to do or the elements you're exposed to.

Very young employees, has a very high school culture. Stressful because of poor management which leads to angry customers but fun because it's outdoors and it's fun to learn about Toronto.

Good job, but less hours and it's seasonal

Not enough hours, I got 2 days in week

It's very friendly and professional

Traffic due protests and Blue Jays game due to traffic

Nobody knows whats going on majority of the time. Management is laughable outside of two very experienced managers. Workplace culture was decent but be prepared to not have a life outside of work as you'll be exhausted from working 12 hours a day. Decent money for a young college student.

Hours are long and it sucks that you get moved to different hotels frequently. You don’t have a permanent hotel to work at unless you’ve work there for awhile. Some of the hotels are great to work at than others. Training is too short, and they put you on the job right away.
