I have worked in this field for many years, and this is the first time any employer has ever had an issue with my certification. I explained that my certification was a higher-level, more comprehensive version than what they required, while still including all of the training they were asking for. Despite this, I was told I would need to pay for and obtain a new certification anyway.

When I reached out to the certification issuer, I was informed that they could simply send me an updated certificate that met the employer’s requirements, since I had already completed the necessary training. The HR manager clearly did not like this. On my final day of training, she called me at the end of my shift, while I was driving home, to inform me that I had been terminated for “not being a good fit.”

To be clear, I was not new to this field. Clients enjoyed working with me, I completed all of my duties exceptionally, and I consistently came to work prepared and focused on supporting clients. I even created a program for a client in crisis. This termination had nothing to do with my performance. The paperwork I received stated the reason was failure to meet probationary requirements, which directly referred to the certification issue.

This organization does not care about its staff. They do not want employees who know their rights or are willing to advocate for themselves. The individual who causes the most stress cannot be approached, as they are either your supervisor or part of HR.

Run from this job unless you enjoy being bullied, belittled, stressed, and used.

Clients and front line staff are amazing for the most part. Managers work remotely majority of the time, and are trained not to be direct. When you have questions or concerns it is dismissed, or talked about without a direct answer. It's all about what looks good on paper. You will be treated like you are disposable. They are extremely clicky, and only advance workers who they know personally. A lot of nepotism here. Your skill set, experience,  or education doesn't matter. If they don't like you, you will be gone. It is a toxic work environment. It is extremely shameful how they treat their employees. Pay and benefits are okay, but still low. Raises do not happen often  and when they do, they are low.  2 stars only because the clients are wonderful. The overall rating for the agency should be in the negative. Do better for your employees!

I worked here for two weeks until management came to me saying they had complaints from other staff and had concerns I knew it was one particular girl who did not like me and seem me as a competition for a open contract or getting more hours. The teams are close knitted and small and will push anyone new out. Managers don't believe I'm working with you to straighten things out. The work doesn't have straight or clear guidelines with alot of grey area they pay better then other agencies that support people with needs because you use your own car. They say it won't happen often but with places like these they always put the client first and if you work at a indipendent living location where clients want to go out alot or have drs appointments far it can be alot of gas mileage up front on your car

I found the people there to be super nice, friendly, and helpful. You could tell that the management staff really care about you and the people we supported. They are good at providing learning opportunities and being known as the best at everything they do. I was also impressed at how they constantly ask for feedback from their staff. The pay and benefits are also better than similar agencies. It was also cool to come home after work and feel like you made a real difference. The only reason I left was to move to be with my partner.

Depends on your location and team.  Your immediate team is your only support system.  From supervisor up are unreliable and fluent in BS.  Managers talk down to you speaking in circles never actually getting to the point.  The pay is low and benefits are not great.  They pretend to appreciate their employees but that is only for show.  A free slice of pizza and a virtual yoga class is not what employees need.

Fun environment loved the people supported and co workers where amazing, made feel like a second home, communication between staff was great . Supervisor was great offered extra learning to staff for upgrade skills. Also good pay compared to other companies and good benefits 
Only left job due to family having to relocate out of province 

I am a new kid on the block, and I will say the learning curve has been steep but, the support is there at any stage with any question. It has given me an opportunity to spend time with developmentally delayed adults and get joy in return. The laughter is contagious and the reward is purposeful. If this is something that interests you. I say go for it!

My job is fun. We are generally taking people out for activities they have chosen.Its really rewarding seeing all the happiness.  Management is great and very supportive. Offering a lot of training, meetings and phone check-ins. 

They treat you like you're garbage and make it known you're disposable. The pay is terrible for what you do and the management is very clique and think they are above the law as well especially when it comes to the covid-19 restrictions.

CLH is a great place to work. It is a positive and friendly work environment with supportive staff and management who go above and beyond for the people they support.  The wages and benefits are good.
