D&A Collection Corporation

My typical do is getting onto the phones and contacting customers on a daily basis. I'm required to recover outstanding money owing to clients that I represent and must hit daily and monthly targets.

You learn a lot about credit and finance. You learn how to communicate with customers to resolve conflicts and offer constructive solutions.

The management doesn't really communicate well with all staff. They are very loyal to a select few staff but not all. There isn't enough training or thinking outside of the box in order to problem solve issues.

The people I work with are great. Most of the staff either get along great with each other inside of the and or hang out with each other outside of work as well. The majority of the staff and supportive and encouraging.

The hardest part of the job is the job itself. You have to achieve daily targets and goal month after month. Each day you deal a lot of stressful phone calls with customers and a fair amount of stress.

TYPICAL DAY AT WORK IS USUALLY VERY BUSY, LEARNT TO DEAL WITH DIFFICULT SITUATIONS, AND HANDLED THEM IN A DIPLOMATIC MANNER.

GREAT MANAGEMENT TEAM WHO IS ALWAYS WILLING AND READY TO ASSIST IN ANY WAY REGARDING HELPING TO GET YOU WHERE YOU NEED TO BE TO BE SUCCESSFUL AT YOUR JOB.

WORKED WELL WITH MY CO WORKERS, GREAT TEAM PLAYER. 

HARDEST PART OF THE JOB IS GETTING CUSTOMERS TO PAY THEIR OUTSTANDING ARREARS ON TIME SPECIFIED.

MOST ENJOYABLE PART OF THE JOB IS HAVING A POSITIVE ATTITUDE, AND GETTING TO YOUR QUOTA EVERY MONTH, KNOWING THAT YOU HAVE DONE YOUR BEST AND YOU REAP THE REWARD OF YOUR HARD WORK.

This is a Collection agency. Most of the supervisors/managers and some employees that have been there for awhile favorite each other. Mind your business in this place, Gossip is number one. They watch and monitor your every move, every call is recorded. Usual shift is 8-4:30 if you work overtime you Don't get paid for it. If you're not making money, hitting commission no one likes you. Other than the ugly overall, if you do your job you can make good money and depending in the department your in and supervisor they're flexible with your schedule.

The only enjoyable part about employment at D&A Collection Corporation was the people working there. It is extremely hard to get advancement within the company, and after ages of working there you quite possibly will not even get any sort of raise. The job security is laughable, as they see employees just as disposable as the debtors they call. They have a very funny definition of "salary" - meaning they can ask you to work for free as many hours as they like, yet if you miss a day you have to work and make up for it or get a nasty deduction. Awful place.

Cubicle farm meets prison camp/insane asylum. They have a few people that have been there forever and never really worked anywhere else and that's why they're in charge. Staff turnover is extremely high due to the low salary, forced hours, forced unpaid overtime, and poor lower to mid level management. Good if you need a paycheq but don't stay as sooner or later they cut your section or commission or change your hours or.....well you get the picture.

D&A Collections is a company I enjoy working with the people are easy to get along with together we make a great team and are able to work together to ensure our task are completed however our management structure is missing basic skills needed to run a smooth business there is great conflict with authority and personal relations between some our the managements and supportive staff I feel this company does have enough opportunity for growth or job security

I've worked in many different departments of D&A. The managers I have had have been wonderful, including the operations managers. There is good job security there so long as you can essentially earn your paycheque back in commission - which is totally understandable. At D&A the workplace culture is excellent. The hardest part of the job is getting debtors to answer the phone, but it is a collection agency, so it is self explanatory.

A typical day at work would be:
• Checking my voice mail to see if clients have called me back
• Checking my e-mail to see if clients have e-mailed me back
• Open up my file and call the clients I have scheduled for the day/ follow ups
• Making safe money transfers
• Dealing with irate customers 
• Making sure I'm as respectful and understanding on the phone

Not a bad place to work, just very stressful. increases are given not on merit or performance, a person will only get a increase if you press for it, $1 increase in about 7 years if you are persistent.

The staff and management is responsible for the degree of stress in the environment resulting in anxiety if you remain employed there too long.

I gained lots of knowledge within this industry. The workload was fair, but to gain benefits each month, longer hours were need to be worked without pay to gain the benefit. The atmosphere in this company is intense as everyone is trying to gain the benefits, which made It stressful and uncomfortable to work in.
