Great place if you are fresh out of school.  It's a good place to learn and get practice if you live at home.  If you have your own place you probably won't make enough money here to afford anything.  They might give you a raise after 5 years IF you are a good worker.  They seem to let the good workers leave instead of giving them an extra $1, and let the slackers just keep slacking. There is very little moral here as they never have anything good to say to the good workers that will be the future of this company.  So I'd say come work here for a year or 2 and learn what you can then get out! 

A typical day at work is usually busy, assembling heaters and shelters, as well as refurbishing army tanks. Doing all this usually requires a lot of team work.

I learned how to weld, pre-assemble and assemble various items including heaters and shelters for the army. I learned how to use various electrical equipment and air tools. I also leaned how to read and follow the blue prints used in all tasks. 

My co-workers where nice and they were all hard workers who knew how to work well as a team when needed.

Some of the assignments where challenging but do-able. 

The most enjoyable part of the job, was simply doing what i love to do and  working in a friendly atmosphere.

I've really enjoyed my time at DEW, I've met some incredible people.  Working here will rapidly expose you to design/manufacturing of large complex assemblies with real deadlines, consequences and challenging constraints.  If you're lucky enough to be offered a permanent position, advancement is possible.  Otherwise temporary employees are treated as such.

DEW engineering is a great place if you want to enter first levels of fabrication production. If your looking for a semi decent wage to learn some trades. Just learn here dont expect to commit to this company. Employee appreciation is the worst I have ever seen. Management want production. That's all they care for.

PROS-People you work with are great, Job is good if you are willing to work hard, If you are a good worker they will call you back when they have more work.

CONS-Because you work by contact job can last short and long duration, sometimes layoffs can be hard as you are never sure how long you will be off.

I was only working at Dew Engineering for my Coop course. In my time at Dew I learned the basic off welding aluminium and stainless steel using the GTAW(tig) process. The team at Dew works well with each other making for a productive, and easy work environment.

It was a large family atmosphere. A pleasure to go to work. Fun.
Recently though, there have been some changes including my Supervisor leaving. A shame - he was a great guy. So, not sure what it's like there now.

There’s no future at this company, promotions are promised to multiple candidates with no follow through, management is the main issue with the company fostering a culture of that will do and mind your business

I loved Dew it was a really good job for sure , we had tons of fun and free hotdogs and hamburgers , breakfasts and dinners , great work place and safe work area!!

I did a lot of sanding, removed burrs from metal, and poured liquid cement around the plates. IT was a clean work environment, management was good, and the most enjoyable was the people I worked with.
