I was hired as a novice driving instructor - salaried at 40-hours per week at the Barrie, ON location.  I really thought this was going to be a great job for my semi-retirement.  I was told I would do some occasional commercial instruction for their corporate accounts.  I was tasked to go to Richmond Hill, Kitchener, Gravenhurst, North York, Hamilton, Burlington, etc and found myself working 12-14 hour days without any word of compensated time off.  I would often go to the job site with no idea when my day would end.  I did very little with the novice instruction that I wanted to do.  I was not advised on the time commitments that were required.  I have no issue getting up at 4:30 am.  I just would like to be home within 8-hours of my shift end.  I hope their job postings in the future are fully disclosing the job requirments.  If they are looking for someone to work 60-hours a week, advertise it in the job posting. Don't say it is a 40-hour week and send you off for a 12-hour day.

DriveWise operates very much like Wal-Mart in such that the customer is always right.
Even when the customer is on video clearly in the wrong.  DriveWise refuses to believe that the video is truthful.
In short, as a teacher for DriveWise, you are never respected as a person and you are always wrong.
They go out of their way on Facebook to show otherwise though.
Gotta love social media. So many untruths.

This employer would be better off paying their staff better, rather than investing so much time and money into training new people every few months.  

Work days are never the same.  You might have a really long day without any notice, or you may finish on time.

Overtime pay is rare, instead, they offer compensated time off which is usually not the same as fair compensation as if you were paid correctly.

Worked there for a little over a year.  People were nice for the most part, but the management leaves a lot to be desired.  They turn over a lot of employees and don't pay as well as they should.  Job had it's perks, such as travel, group lunches from time to time, and time off in lieu of overtime, but again the cons are the way the place is run.

This has been one of the best jobs I’ve ever had in my life these people are the nicest people to work for they’re super communicative overly understanding about so many things they rock to work for I definitely say go in and apply for the job with Drivewise

this is a great company to work for the staff and management are great , they are supportive and help if you have any questions , But if you have family there is no work life balance , but that is the only thing that I had a issue with , I truly can not say any thing bad about this company ..I enjoyed the time I worked with them , 

Educate yourself on the employee standards act before accepting a job with the Thunder Bay franchise. There is no insurance/WSIB should you injure yourself on the job. Benefits were mentioned, but owner never followed through. Time between lessons is not paid. Owner was very disrespectful

a lot of the time I was assigned to go to worksites to teach. I was never told how many students I had.  An 8-hour day quickly turned into a 15-hour day as you had to assess students individually and after teaching, you had to drive back to the office (150km one way was average), refuel the truck, and write course reports.  

Great program for all drivers, novice or experienced professionals. The owners are great to work with and the personnel are there to help. I feel very fortunate to work with this company.

Make your own hours. Teach students on their time. Choose your own routes and places to teach. Flexible schedule as you choose your own hours. You must keep your car in good order
