DUCA is a great incubator, but not a nest. While I was in IT, others outside of IT felt the same way. DUCA gives you the chance to advance its direction and rewards you accordingly and well. However, DUCA generally won’t be led in other directions by your area of expertise. You’ll be the expert, but you generally won’t be consulted on topics of strategy and tactics. You are there to operationalize their strategies and tactics. You may learn and propose “better ways” that DUCA isn’t ready for. That’s ok. When you are itching to prove your “next-level” ideas, that’s when you make your move. Two to three years at DUCA is a great mutual investment. They provide great workspaces and hardware and are a Microsoft 365 shop. If you want to learn Microsoft platforms, this is a great place.

Conflicting deadlines - regulatory environment.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Very positive, and inclusive. Culture is treated as an important facet of work life.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
It’s busy, and hectic, but like any other financial institution.

HR is largest department of all and hunts anyone who's not in line
Recently purchased DNA system is the worst in the industry and caused mass exodus of IT personnel
Executive leadership is inept and squabbles over pity scores between themselves, while claiming "inclusive culture"
Stay out or play the game of backstabbing.


DUCA is overall a good company to work for. DUCA holds many positions in the company that is diverse.
It has very good employees and management.

I have worked for DUCA for seven years due to a merger with another credit union. I did love my old credit union.  The differences in how the company is carried out is different. Takes some getting used to. 

I enjoy my job, everyday is a new experience.

Great place to learn and increase your skill set. Ability to work with different departments, participate in charity work, and really own your self when managing a project.

DUCA is a very nice place to work at. The work place is very positive and collaborative. Its a small organization and very efficient at the same time. the employees are well taken care of and the CEO is fantastic.

My day consists of servicing current and new broker relationships by underwriting deals and making consistent presentations

Great culture and although the expectations are there, it's definitely a different feel than the big banks. Much more relaxed and management is very understanding. Plus salaries are higher than at the big 5 banks. I recommend working here!

During my time, the credit union was understaffed and as a result the hours were very long.  There was very little support and at times there were poor controls in place.

The work environment is very focused and fast paced. The people are nice and management is very hands-on in that they monitor and direct staff at every step of decision-making.
