Not a bad place to work at all. Some very good people.  Equipment is 50/50... Excellent mechanics keep everything up and running very efficiently... Some customers are fantastic some are horrible.  Not a lot of fun in the winter when everything freezes up... Lots of downtime in the vehicle waiting for the customer to get ready.  Unionized environment.  Most senior drivers get earliest start time... Most Junior drivers get least amount of hours... Junior drivers usually get laid off over the slow winter months... And get called back as the work picks up.  Certain work has to be done during off hours so there are crazy shifts, sometimes overnight work is required.

The sales team - amazing people working for DC

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Not being able to meet expectation on service.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Big Corporation but with a family feel - everyone is approachable.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy From the start to the end of the day - you really never know what you will be dealing with.

For the most part in my opinion, Dufferin Concrete is a great place to learn new things. Fellow employees are very welcoming to new hires and very approachable when it comes time to ask for help or advice, I feel there are many potential opportunities for advancement with this company, so far it’s been fun learning about all the different types and applications of concrete. Looking forward to learning more …..

Never know when you start or finish

No one cares supervisors or management 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Stressful physical and not healthy

inconsiderate,ignorant unprofessional. Never any correspondence back from them regarding the interview process. Went through the entire process and passed all required tests. Reached out to their hiring team several times and they refused to respond. Just an ignorant group of people. Very inconsiderate and unprofessional.

I still work here but there is a two tier pay new worker get less pay work late into the evening and Saturday a six day week with the top 10 guys get paid more work less and never on the weekends and then the bottom guys get laid off for 3 to 4 months if you don’t mind giving up your summer you can make great money but new guys don’t stay

Too many rain days off. Then when at work as a union job  you will start last and expect to work 13 hrs or more as your Jr guy so you always get the last load.and the oldest truck there and mandatory weekend work for Jr guys. Expect to be layed off in December and called back around April. Safety is a joke  as a driver it's all blamed on the driver. Plus the hazards of the concrete dust and chemical

Low employee moral, high employee turn over. Human resource & management well aware of the on going patterns of workplace abuse due to poor management however refuse to address the problem &  instead continue to encourage it allowing the problem to escalate for employees.

that's all they don't care about your personal life your family your health your days off your uniform nothing   They pay you the minimum and expect the maximum.  Good luck getting hours if your new, only top 3 in seniority get hours, the fleet is aged, and if you request a day off sorry you cant get that either

Far from a perfect place but I must say I really enjoy what we do and how we go about our business.
7 am to 4:00 pm
My boss is attentive and helpful 
Changes can occur on the fly and requires quick reactions at times.
