I didn’t last long at DLS a lot of family
Issues which they accommodated quite nicely. When I was their the training was far and few in between you’d be shown what to do and then they’d walk away and not come back unless something happened or you needed help. 

Was required to have my phone on me which got damaged, I was never told during the hiring process it was a requirement and if you don’t have a lot of data or access to their wifi it eats up a good portion of your phone bill with the email and texting requirements.

The tasks them self’s aren’t too challenging when things are fixed and working I had a sheet of metal drop on me could have seriously injured me but an untrained technician with no tickets or listens repaired the motor and that was the temporary fix. (Doesn’t make you feel to safe) 

The people are great no issues with anyone all super helpful. They all were willing to help if you had questions. 

 I was let go during my probation I wasn’t talked to on why I had an issue come up they told me to take the time off ( their idea not mine ) then they proceeded to terminate my employment after I provided a doctors note explaining what happened. (I understand during the 90 days stuff can happen and they did what they had to do. 

No fitting for respirators lots of grinding and no mask wasn’t shown where to get one or was ever fitted for one. So just be prepared for lots of sore throats.  

Lack of training on different materials they use a lot of different types of metal it’s just assumed you know what they are asking questions doesn’t help. 

Lots of i between time sometimes you can help sometimes you can’t besides sweeping when your done that it’s hard to keep your self and your mind busy.

Long 9 hour days for some reason they pay u for 2 breaks and not lunch so your day is 9 hours long. 

Management good people easy to communicate with.

Theirs no pension or rrsp they don’t offer much to want to be their for the long haul.

With training improvements better benefits and a pension or rrsp they’ll have a broader audience to advertise to and keep people in 

The Typical days begins with a lack of direction and preparedness for the work week by management staff. Management scrambles to find work, sending employee's on meandering petty jobs to fill in the time in between jobs. Learning is difficult because the management is reluctant to give any advice or assistance, seemingly very "close to the chest" making the most mundane tasks a nightmare to complete and learning nearly impossible. Compensation is low for the work being done. Medical plan is poor to say the least. Workplace culture is toxic and very bad for mental health. The "diamond in the rough" would have to be solidarity among fellow hourly wage field employee's. We're in the same boat so we understand one anothers frustrations about the job, making you feel somewhat heard. That does not extend to the management.

This is basically a company no one should work for. 
The owners are distant and are learning about technical aspect of the business and heavily delegate to stay above the fray.
Safety is the workers problem and folks avoid reporting injuries to avoid getting fired since they aren't too kind to people who fall sick
The company s heavy focus is on new areas of business while they have markups of double or more on anything they sell. The workmanship is generally novice.
Management is not very competent so ppl band together to get things done. 
Pay is below the lower.end of market pay and you get to work 9hrs a day. It will be good for a while for learning but try make a hasty exit. The owners are fickle and don't really care.l.for anyone but their business


Working in the Fabrication Department there is quite a lot to learn. If you work hard and show an interest you can develop your skills in many different areas.

Fitting and welding mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum if your skill is there. They manufacture a lot of different components for the Dairy Industry. Engineered inhouse, using blueprints. Your day can be quite enjoyable if that is what you are after.

I developed my stainless TIG fitting and welding skills here further. Very knowledgeable and skilled tradesmen here if you pick their brain and show an interest, you will learn a lot if you keep an open mind.

Management is great here, honestly it was like a family. 



A typical day at dairy lane is 10-12hr shifts. Fast paced but engaging and rewarding work. Pay is great for entry level position with overtime. Management and co workers are always willing to help or explain something if you need clarification Nothing bad to say about the company they are great all the way around 
Benefit package is good and the work apparel they provide is great quality 

I think I was only there to set up autocad and create all the templates to make the bosses job easier.
 I always felt I was in the dark.
Never given a reason why I was let go.
I did enjoy some of the fellow employees and the fact that I was given the chance to improve my skills with Revit.
Boss at interview confirmed 45, 000 a year, only to discover that a work day is 9 hours instead of 8 hours.

I am currently completing an HR co-op with this company and have had a wonderful experience. I have clear instruction and expectations with all tasks which are asked of me. Many staff in different departments have welcomed me and greatly contributed to my learning experience here. There is a very inclusive and welcoming atmosphere throughout the company. 

They expect you to drop everything for them.  Expect you to answer company phone 24 7.. if you disagree with the owners they will fire you there and then.  A lot of promises but will not fulfill them.  Poor compensation if you go out of town for them.

Working at Dairy Lane Systems has been a very rewarding experience. I enjoy learning about the industry and seeing how this company goes above and beyond for it's customers. Management always steps in to help when needed, as teamwork is essential for our success.

Friendly staff and team members who all work very hard together to make sure the business runs smoothly and efficiently.  
Job security is good,  very fast paced work environment as company continues to grow.  
Family orientated workplace atmosphere.
