Being a full-time worker is great. There are no issues when it comes to repetition or getting bad jobs all the time. But on the other had to be a TPT myself it was horrible. The pay wasn't bad actually better than the majority of part-time jobs around and the hours were great and flexible around school and other personal things. What was horrible was how you're treated. You are not viewed as anything to anyone. You pay into the union to have them do nothing for you (I went to the union multiple times and since I wasn't a "full-time employee" *even though I paid union dues and worked full time for 4 months over the summer, they didn't care what so ever). The team leaders will make exceptions for all their friends and full times and give you the worst possible job for 8 hours straight causing me to have medical issues over my time there and they couldn't care. I would have team leaders go talk to the full time's in that zone and ask them if they want to do THEIR assigned job and if they didn't the TPT would get it even if it meant 6-8 hours straight on a job that was listed at a max of 2 hours. This caused many issues to this day including back issues at a young age. Many of the employees are nice and will switch with you but not all of them. Overall it's not a horrible place to work as full time but if you're a TPT then good luck getting shoved around and treated as nothing and just a number. Because to them that all you are

Thanks to their excellent management team, I have had a fantastic experience working with Dakkota Integrated Systems. They were organized, communicative, and attentive to our needs from the beginning. They were always available to address our concerns or questions and consistently went above and beyond to ensure that we were satisfied with the service we received.

The problem with this place is you mean NOTHING! Your input as a employ is useless and so are you in the eyes of this company. You DO NOT receive full wage until two years working at the company, so not much intensive to stick it out. Sure they have a union but its useless and they have ZERO say in anything and are in the companies back pocket. You have so much managements always around you feel as if your on pins and needles constantly. No proper tools for the jobs. No room for growth or promotion you pretty much make the same amount of money as you do for two years then its caped no going up from there.  If you need quick cash then do it but dont stay too long because Dakkota is really a sad and horrible place to work. This place needs a strike and rattle a few cages.

What is the best part of working at the company?
To feel proud to do the wiring for Pacifica and for the mini van . To work for a large well known vehicle manufacturer in Canada.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Using the magnetic gun to drill in the dash screws while running down the line . 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Every second counts. From the second you start till the end of the day. You must watch you computer screen organize parts assembly parts. Wire dash or door frame. Lift and insert proper mold to dash or door panel. Screw down brackets or mold panels and feed correctly colour wiring in dash.

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Timely efficient and attention to detail is a must.

Poorly managed company. Reactive not proactive in every aspect of the plant as in PMs quality issues where NCTs could of been avoided but lack of wanting to recognize a problem and just ignore it leads to many issues.  Fellow union workers are good to work with but half of management look and talk down to employees. No moral no motivation to do good work will be surprised if the place is still open in a few years. Take another job elsewhere not a good place at all. very high turnover rate around 650 workers come and gone in 10 years of a plant around 160. 2 years to get to full pay decent benifit package but the unprofessional management have ruined that place and it starts at the top.

Terrible management - will do everything to save every last penny, even if it sacrifices safety, workplace satisfaction, quality, and pretty much everything else. They treat you as though you’re disposable (and it shows through their astronomical turnover rate). They continue to remove jobs and overload work stations to the point where they’re nearly impossible, and then complain that quality is suffering. Not a good place to work - find somewhere that treats you like a  human being. That said, the co workers on the line are very sociable and nice.

Your expected to finish whatever is needed in your area within 45 seconds if you go down too often you will get written up. The people are very gossipy and the only way to get the easy jobs or to be promoted is to befriend management. My neck and hand have never been the same sence i worked here i have very bad trigger finger and a sore neck daily from being left on the same job for weeks at a time...its not worth it . I wish i would have reported my injuries because its consistent pain everyday for me.

There's bullying, profanity yelling, between workers,  it felt like high school at times, some guys gang up on you, favoritism,   some employees make it purposely difficult for other people to do their job, so they can't do their job effectively and get fired

terrible place to work in terms of management, treated like children, poor hourly wage, while management clears in excess of $90,000+ annually. no short work week pay in collective agreement, therefore company short shifts all 3 shifts at least 3 times a week.

No accomidating to home life. No compassion. Degrading. Yelling and screaming. Tons of turnover with management and floor workers. No respect.  Name calling. Favouritism.short shifts. Management doesnt understand floor work. Good for a temporary job but cant be taken seriously.
