I operated a two Mori-Seiki CNC machines. I learned how to operate precision machines and maintain product integrity at all times. Strict measurement parameters were adhered to through every step of the manufacturing process. Management were very thoughtful and always listened to any concerns an employee may have. My co-workers were friendly,although somewhat " stand offish". For the most part, people tended to keep to themselves. The hardest part of the job was the extremely hot working conditions in the summertime. Often in excess of 50 degrees celsius indoors. The most enjoyable part of the job was being able to work independently knowing that my management had complete faith in my abilities as an operator.

This place does not care about the employees at all. They have laid off the same group of people numerous times in the last few months. Then they posted a notice saying Terrific News the company is doing great and thanks to all your overtime and hard work there will be no more lay offs. Then less then a week later laid off the same group of people again plus more. These are people that have worked seven days a week for the last year or more with little to no appreciation. They cancelled Christmas dinner/ party  replaced it with some pizzas. Then posted a notice that said no the pizza was for the “Catcher program “ everyone got to eat it but it felt like a slap in the face.  There is already not enough people to cover the jobs they expect us to do and now we will have even less. 

I started working here and everything was fine, coming in everyday for 2 months then everything shifted. The manager of our line started treating me horrid and always pushing me out of the way to show me what to do while I was on the line for months already and knew everything I was supposed to do. Then eventually I get pulled to the side and get told that I need to grab my things and leave I’m finished here. And the worst part about them is after that I was out of a job and they didn’t submit the papers to the government required so I could get unemployment insurance and still wouldn’t no matter how many times I called and asked.

Able to develop significant experience in the liaison, follow-up, management and clerical support of projects. Strong organizational strengths for the supervision, coordination, and implementation of work plans, process improvement initiatives, and staffing in a fast-paced production environment not excluding compliance to corporate and legislated requirements related to Health, Safety and Environmental issues.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Fair management and rewarding work.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
Nothing out of the ordinary. It’s what you would expect from a publicly traded corporation.

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Most coworkers are very collaborative. All employee appreciation activities were cancelled years ago and never came back. Overall it’s a satisfying place to work.

When a supervisor is a union rep . , that's a bad thing . 

The union serves no benefit to the employees in my opinion . Company walks all over union time and time again with slimey hiring practices when it comes time to vote on contract . 

Plenty of busy bodies less concerned with what they are doing and more with what you're doing . 
Plant manager is a gem as well as the afternoon production supervisor. 

A typical day was counting selective parts to make sure the daily information was timely and properly entered to the ERP system

I learned to make the accounting cycle.

Coworkers: they were collaborative and friendly

The hardest part of the job: Walking everydays along the factory

The most enjoyable part of the job: My meetings with my boss. They were very productive.

It started as a good job until the line I worked was moved and a week later i was fired because I didn't show enough enthusiasm and like to sit back and watch other people work meanwhile I was constantly asking for work to do because after the line I worked left I was on a different one for like 3 days before they had me doing random little tasks most of wich were cleaning like the break room and smoking area outside but somehow I was sitting back and watching everyone else work.

There’s a reason I stayed there 17 yrs, (Management) unfortunately our Division (Chassis Products) was sold off to another company.

Dana Canada has some problems with the way they treat there employees. Poor management and complete lack of maintenance cause for a very stressful working environment. Always short on material and never have adequate support staff.over all Dana Canada has the highest turn over rate for employees that I have ever worked at.
