I worked as a photographer and video camera operator at dancebug. Their events are often very long, 12-13 hours easily and you often work continuously without any breaks in between.  Events happen across the province, so you drive 2-3 hours to get to the venue, and they only give you 100 which is barely enough to cover gas.  Since events usually last multiple days, they do not have hotel or food budget so you are on your own.  After 2-3 days of long work hours, and all expenses are deducted, you end up with barely any money with a very sored body.  You use your own camera equipments so there are a lot of wear and tear on them.  This company has changed name a few times because of its poor reputation, but its run by the same group of people.  There are better companies to work for than dancebug.

Multitasking is an absolute must working here because on a typical day I can speak to over 20 people about 20 different events.  During Feb to June the hours are crazy, the work is fast pace, intense and demanding.  The rest of the year is more easy going and a lot goes into planning and preparing to ensure the crazy months work smoothly.  Management and co-workers are all easy going and mostly easy to get a long with.  Unfortunately the customers and clients are usually very difficult and dealing with them is the hardest part of the job.  What is most enjoyable is the challenge, and my feedback being heard.

For the videographer positions, I would saw working at DRC is a decent job for someone who does freelance work.

Everyone that I've met and worked with at DRC were decent people. The work is not too difficult, but you need to be knowledgable about your equipment and be willing to work some long hours if you want to work as a videographer here.

Overall, a great place for a freelance camera operator.

When I worked there, I was very satisfied and content. I felt almost like dancing when I photographed the dancers. I also enjoyed the interactions I had with the videographers and other employees. I loved traveling, and this job allowed me to do both travel and business. Whenever I received positive feedback from the employer about my photos, it made me very happy.

The given rate on the internet does not match the hours you work sometimes you don't even get a washroom break. Some vendors don't even provide you with water.

I enjoyed freelancing with DRC video productions. A very reliable company.
I learnt new shooting techniques especially with streaming services.

As a videographer or photographer its a good seasonal job. there is chance to see lots of place in Canada. They pay for your all foods & drinks. But its a still seasonal job from march to july. 

One of the best company to work with. Well organized, great communication team. Absolutely fun team to work at 5:30 am to 10:30 pm with.  Looking forward to working with your again.

Love working with everyone here and in the field.  Always meeting new people and everyone is friendly and helpful and work great as a team.  Plus it's a beautiful office.

Employees are amazing, the management is horrible.
