Davis and Henderson

Was there for a year and left. Worked at the call center. Couldn't take the place anymore and heres why. 
- Shifts arent the best and its hard to plan your life because every 3 months there a good chance your shift will change. They monitor you harshly on the quality & duration of the call. So you have to know your stuff 100%, and you have to help the customer in under 3 minutes on average or else your call gets too long and you get a low monthly score. Lets say you get a really good quality score for the month of 90% (which is practically impossible because the people who are monitoring the calls will pick on anything and everything and its happened so many times where they just make up a rule, and you try to fight it to get a better score but management always chooses quality peoples side, so the rule they made up becomes a legit one and your score doesnt change), but you took too long on your calls, you get bumped down the rank and get last pick for shifts. A lot of people find that if you focus on quality and giving excellent customer service, its nearly impossible to get a very good call duration score AND vice versa. 
- Raises dont exist. Theyd rather put that money into the bonus pool. But the thing is, its nearly impossible to get a bonus for the same reason said above (both bonuses and shifts depend on your monthly scores of quality and call duration, among other things). Believe me, managers will tell you that bonuses are easy to get you just have to work hard, but I've rarely seen a person get a bonus on a regular basis. 
- all in all, its very stressful & I haven't even touched on the type of work you do. The callers are rude I'd say 50% of the time so its an unpleasant job. I'd say that the job itself would be manageable if management wasn't so on your case about your monthly scores. 
- LASTLY, if your looking for a company where you can move up, don't work here (at least in the call center).

It was a pleasure working at Davis + Henderson. It is one of the best companies to work for. Salary and Incentives were great. They treated their employees with courtesy and respect.

-Typical workday was being on the phones, helping clients and building relationship with them for the company.

-I learned various skills, such as: Patience, listening skills,  attentiveness, clear communication skills, product knowledge, assertiveness, polite, professionalism, various computer skills, time management and managerial skills.

-Management was excellent. I had amazing managers who treated everyone with respect and motivated everyone to do better.

-I worked with some amazing co-workers and I believe I got on well with everyone due my friendly and approachable personality.

-Hardest Job was not being able to meet a customer's need

-The most enjoyable part of my job was customer satisfaction and when management was satisfied with my performance

D+H has significantly evolved over the last few years with new acquisitions, restructuring and globalizations of operations. With the evolution and changing culture, company has made positive changes to bring about work/life balance, foster a trust based relationship and continue to be innovative. 

There are few things that can be improved to ensure continuing employees' engagement such as transparent and frequent communication, effective employees' participation and career development opportunity. 

D+H is a great company and, I would continue to recommend it to potential job seekers

A typical day starts with a coffee, meetings, daily reports , emergency fix.
I have learned how  to manage my time.
Management is resourceful and  professional.
Co-workers are  friendly and supportive.
The hardest part of the job is complete tasks in time where you do not have enough  knowledge and information, however is fun to successfully complete them. 
 The most enjoyable part of the job when projects go on live , and the next few days there are no errors or fixes in production.

The day is typically spent answering phones about student loans, usually the office is quiet in the mornings, gets loud and busy by the afternoon, the best part about the job is their flexibility with students studying in college or university, they don't mind you studying between calls as long as you do answer the phones and continue to provide accurate info to the students calling in.

A typical day at Davis and Henderson included making orders were booth properly made and packaged to be shipped to the client. I learned how to operate different machinery that is used in making different items used in the day to day running of a business. Management and co-workers were polite and were willing to answer any questions I might have had. The hardest part of the job was the long commute. The most enjoyable part of the job was that I was learning new things every day.

Davis & Henderson is a good job as a stepping stone to further your career within the company, government or other jobs that deal with that particular sector (i.e: customer service/call centre)

I met many great people, management was helpful and friendly, they taught me and I learned a lot. It's extremely important to be aware of script procedure such as name, address, city, province, phone number and email because verification is key.

I acquired more skills on how to deal with angry customers,how to make the customer happy no matter the circumstances.
The management is fine and helpful.
My co-workers make a wonderful team to work with.
The hardest part of the job is when its busy and they give you overtime hours that u didnt ask for.
The most enjoyable part of the job is that we dont work on week ends and we get statutory days off and paid.

I worked at scotia bank student's loan portfolio, received and processed consolidation agreements and revision of terms for student loans. calculated student's interest for income tax purpose and other responsibilities included: preparation of claim files and demand letters for mailing, support to team and other departments ( mailroom, mainframe, disbursement, ministry of health department ) to ensure goals are met

My job within this company was to enter data within their computer system.  It was basically pharmaceutical data as well as dental data.. This is is all i did all day long..  Started at 10 bucks an hour got a few raises and manged to bring my pay to 11.25
