I got hired here at Del Monte about a week ago, and I quit today.

Let's start with how they get you. Of course, if you're desperately seeking employment, especially during the loose ends of a pandemic (like I was), their work ad sounds appealing. Full-time, permanent employment, and you get paid every week?! Heck ya, sign me up. 

They get back to you right away, and basically you're hired if you are able to work the following day.

The orientation/interview is none of that. Instead, the recruiter presents a cheap little slide show, while you fill out paper work, which is then followed by a test, that has no merit.

After that, you are taken to the PPE Room (personal protective equipment), where you're instructed how to dress for the production floor. As soon as you're dressed, you're sent on the floor. No training.

They expect you to learn everything on the floor from other workers, who look just as sore and annoyed to be there.

They expect you to work 7 DAYS a work week. As a new hire, I was expected to work from the day I started, to the next week's Friday (11 days in a row). The work is repetitive, and you are definitely going to be sore. Your feet, back, hands, and patience will be tested.

Please do not apply here. It is horrible! They only pay you minimum wage ($14/HR), and expect you to devote your loyalty to them. I wish I had known what a terrible place this was before I applied.

Terrible company with below average pay.  Run by clueless immigrants.  Terrible abusive management.  No one wants to work here for more than a few months before they realize that this facility can't operate paying people peanuts and no benefits. Immigrant managers hiring family members and kids with no clue or experience running facility.  Expect ongoing high turnover .

Never in your wildest dreams could ever imagine working in such a horrible facility. Without doubt the phrase “just a number” is certainly valid. There is no work culture. Management grasps at straws to meet deadlines and are massive fans of passing the buck on to their over worked, under paid and appreciated employees. You’re constantly under the threat of being wrote up for any number of things. Do not apply to work here.

There's a reason that the turnover rate is so high. Zero communication, and training,  was completely thrown in, yelled at by veteran workers and thrown around to a station that required more skill than a new hire could provide. Management is horrible, zombie work environment.  If I could give a zero-star review I would. If you like working in a freezing, wet, loud, Oshawa shoe box then apply to DelMonte because they will instantly hire you.

Cold envirment. Fast paced. They expect you to work weekends. Schedule changes week to week. They expect you to work weekends with days off during week.

It was an awesome experience in delmonte.I have done a multiple type of work  assigned to me.I have done the work like chopping vegetables,fruits and also packaging the food.The manager is quite cooperative

I also enjoyed working with my co-workers of many nationalities, I worked many hours overtime when the trucks were lined up for food delivery, sometimes extra trucked needed to be processed and I would work overtime.

Very toxic environment with unsafe working conditions. They will try and make you work double shifts. A lot of yelling and talking down to employees by management. Very poorly run. 

Long hours of standing and walking,temperature in Production area is +3C, can only sit during breaks, Nice colleagues. High turnover of personnel specially in QA department.

It’s really a cold environment, like a refrigerator. The main problem is hours. They hired me as a full time worker although, I’m not getting enough hours. This happens only for the afternoon shift workers.
