Where to even start… if you find yourself in the interview process for a company/clinic that espouses a “family” environment/culture… RUN! Do not walk. Away. This is code for a dysfunctional toxic work environment where expectations are unclear and not communicated, and where you are expected to play favorites with under-performing staff members. It is an exhausting, turn-your-hair-grey experience that will take years off your life. You will work until your fingers bleed with nothing to show for it. Don’t make the same mistake I did to work for a company with weak leadership, no clear sense of priorities and an extremely understaffed and under qualified HR department who will throw good employees under the bus at first opportunity. I witnessed my employees who were brave enough to stand up for themselves and their rights branded as “problem” people and ushered out the door. Productivity and KPIs do not matter if you’re not groveling and scraping at every turn. My advice, look elsewhere, find a healthier environment.

I worked at Dermapure and I can say without hesitation that it was one of the worst professional experiences I've ever had. The workplace culture is toxic, with a heavy emphasis on blame-shifting and office politics.

Management lacks transparency and consistently fails to support their team. There’s a clear favoritism that undermines the morale of those who aren't in the inner circle. This has created a hostile environment where employees are pitted against each other, rather than working collaboratively.

The lack of proper communication and feedback is appalling. Instead of constructive criticism, employees are met with vague directives and arbitrary changes that only increase stress. The high turnover rate speaks volumes about the overall dissatisfaction among staff.

If you're considering a position here, be prepared for a micromanaged, high-pressure environment where your well-being takes a backseat to achieving unrealistic goals. Save yourself the trouble and look elsewhere.

Poor training , sets you up for failure.
Lying, blaming, and constantly pushing each other down. Extremely gossipy environment.
Older employees feel threatened and insecure around new hires.
Employees are asked to leave early, cutting scheduled hours. Often understaffed or overstaffed.
Horrible management , concerns are ignored instead of resolved.
Constantly hiring and interviewing new candidates at lower pay.
Employees are anxious and highly stressed working here.

Leadership is almost non existent, the blind leading the blind. Upper management makes adjustments and changes without careful consideration on the impact. Staff and patients can see the changes and are unhappy about them but regardless management will just do as they please. 

Staff are significantly underpaid, under the cost of living. When I see a posting for one of the highest cost of the living locations in the world at close to minimum wage, I think its comical.

You aren't given adequate vacation time or sick time. You are required to spend extra time outside of work to attend their training and classes as well as meetings. 

There is constant revolving doors for a reason.

An extremely toxic environment, they will set you up to fail & then blame you.  No support from management at all.  Very unprofessional way of handling things.  They are all about the money ... pay is low, staff are not happy & will talk behind each others backs complaining about management yet they do not address it with management.  If you have an entrepreneurial spirt, avoid this place as they want robots and are not prepared to embrace change or explain why things happen as they do.  Do not stand out as you will be thrown under the bus.
Staffing is apparently the biggest issue for this place... the above explains why

If you’re looking for fair treatment or stability. RUN. Managment is horrible. You will not feel supported and you’ll be treated not equal to other staff. The training is horrible, they don’t want to train you at all. No grace is given for new employees needing help and learning advancements. They basically set you up for failure , lie and then blame you. Do NOT recommend working for this company if you’re looking for GENUINE work experience and genuine people.

I am so blessed to work for DERMAPURE. They are the best company to work for with great benefits. I have worked in this industry for a couple years - I can say with joy that working at Dermapure has brought me so much joy. I love what they stand for and what a fabulous company they are to work for. I would never want to work for anyone else - I am excited to stay with this company and grow with them.

Blessed is an understatement. 

Constant revolving door of management and head office. Clinic founders/doctors are unhappy. Zero Leadership support on the ground floor. HR has no power and becomes complacent. Toxic in clinic work spaces with no support from upper management. 

As a growing company we are thrilled to live all together this great adventure. We work together as a familiy. For sure we have, like everywhere else some challenges but we continue getting better and better all together. Overall I recommend this company if you like exciting life at work and you like diversity and achieving goals.

The clinic was acquired by dermapure in 2022 and since the there have been partial implementations of procedures which change constantly  and a strong decline in employee moral. You’d think with such a big company that a transition would be smooth.
