Devonshire Care Centre

My job is from 8 am to 4 pm. I have learned about the behavior of Dementia and Alzheimer's disease in geriatric population. Working with the geriatric is fun. I have to manage their walking schedule, physical therapy exercise, ROM exercise, group exercise and their wheelchair or walking aid issues. The work is challenging with them but it makes me happy when I see the smile on their face. Workplace culture is dynamic and that makes it more interesting. The hardest part of job is to see some of the client in their End of Life (EOL) phase. The most enjoyable part is to see some of the client dancing and singing whenever they get chance.

Overall a good experience. I wish the clients got a chance to get outside more to enjoy the fresh air instead of being inside 24/7. I feel the care there is very much rushed and the quality of care is a little low. The clients are great but deserve more time. Teamwork and better communication might be a good idea too.

It was a fast pace workplace with team nursing and multi-disciplinary team to provide quality care to frail elderly in the long-term care setting. Flexible work hour and good management team to keep up the moral.

Typical day at work was never knowing what problem you were going to encounter. I learned from experience in construction to overcome any problems that came my way. Most enjoyable part of the was the satisfaction of a job well done.

The job is good to students who are looking for a part-time job. The work is "active" but it is easy. You can easily get along well with everyone at work which makes it more fun. The manager is very good too because he tries to resolve conflicts right away and fairly.

I did clinical placement here. The staff is well organized and professional. There is a dimly lit quiet break room for employees who want to relax during breaks.

In Devonshire Care Center, I worked as casual on call any shift as long as i am available. I worked as Supervisor to healthcare aides, processed doctor's order as needed.

friendly and helpful staff. Care is client focused. Managers support career growth of staff. Environment promotes healthy and peaceful living for the client.

I enjoyed working at Devonshire care center.   The residents were very interesting to work with.  Employees at Devonshire kind and helpful.   Management was subjected to change.

All in all a productive environment. sometimes disorganized with workers with being short staffed and scheduling. Management pretty understanding and easy to talk with.
