You are a liability. And you will be treated as so. I have never worked in such an uncomfortable place to work ever. Definitely preparing me for a long jail sentence. Which will seem like a walk in the park after a couple years at this place. You are there for one thing and one thing only make an old Billionaire more money for him and his two kids!! He is the absolute reason billionaires should be outlawed. While his staff all have a side hustle be it legal or illegal. No one can afford to just work their. Even though they take every waking hour possible from you during construction season. Oh ya then you get laid off and feel unsure if you still have a job. Dexters doesn’t care if you have one year or 20 they treat you like it’s your first day. Unless you have a degree and qualify for a high level job. Then your treated a little more like a human. I’d say knights maybe. So you get a few perks but your still expendable and they won’t hesitate to lynch you in a heart beat. Unless you are of a certain name or come from a particular area. Then you seem to stay for 30 years for a tiny pension or a forced retirement. Hope that helps give you an idea of what a fun place this place is to work for. Take your life and spit on your grave!! 

Dexters is a great place for someone trying to get back on their feet, great pay for doing traffic control and you don't need a ged or any experience in anything whatsoever. BUT with those low requirements come very interesting employees ill say. The hours are very demanding, and they don't let you progress through the company because their need for flaggers is dire. For instance; Dexters has a huge training facility for all the machines in our yard, after asking management if i could move up to a labourer they pretty much said no. i was then told from a supervisor if i wanted to be a labourer, train with the machines or just progress i was going to have to try and do it behind management's back and make sure they don't find out??? HOWEVER you are getting paid quite well to just hold the stop sign all day with usually good amounts of breaks. Note that you will be on call 5-7 days a week with an average shift time of 10 hours  (and you don't get to say no some days or leave early) Dont expect that management will respect you or even remember your name. your just a number here, but a number that makes decent money.

It started out being a nice place but I was put with a different crew the second season I was there and he had it out for smokers. The co-workers I worked with did not make the job enjoyable. I did my job the best I could, day in and day out and not once did I feel like part of the crew but I made the most of it and treated them the way I wanted to be treated. 
The work I loved, as I love paving, working with asphalt but will admit it was hard when you felt you were being bullied on a daily basis. I really do not speak nasty of anything or anyone but you wanted me to be honest so that is what I did. I imagine the "main" company in the city is great but the valley division is not so nice.

The people! Great company with great equipment.

What is the most stressful part about working at the company?
For myself it was traveling to and from work.

They are making big improvements in safety. Safety up front and center!

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Busy which is good makes the day go by quick and of course you get your breaks when needed.

What is the best part of working at the company?
Extra overtime on weekends if you want it and good opportunities to learn

Always Getting called out on the radio instead of talking to you one on one 

What is the work environment and culture like at the company?
Mostly good atmosphere. Employees are easy to get along with. People are generally in a good mood 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very busy. Everyone has a job to do and it usually runs pretty smoothly

A typical day begins at 6:00 pm and runs to 6:00 am, night shift. The foreman hands out the work orders to begin the shift and you proceed to getting the vehicle to be worked on. Once completed, you see he foreman and get the next work order.

I learned how to operate on my own, and communicate with others.

The management is supportive and understanding.

My coworkers are good to help myself and others when required.

The hardest part is working in the dark, and in poor weather.

The most enjoyable part of the job is the joking with coworkers.

The money is the only good thing about working there

Everything from the first phone call to when you get to the job and find out that there’s not enough people

Almost everyone hates it equally 

What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Very stressful, especially when there’s not enough people to do the job

the company was not bad to work for, 
if you like working alot of hours then this is a job for you
the company did offer summer events for your family and Christmas events aswell!

you normally have to be on the road and at work by day light and you are not off the road till dark!
the pay was low, you start at minimum wage and over time you can get up to 12-13$ per hour

If you get hurt, you may be laid off with no return. No job security, the management have no empathy. Little to no home time. Treated like a robot.
I gave my all to that company for 3 years. I got hurt at work, I even had a wcb claim on the go. They still laid me off. Said because I was in my 6 months probation. I had their benefits,  you can only get that after  year minimum.

I worked with this company years ago. I'm sure allot has changed. They were really good to work with and the pay back then was great. 
They are non - union company and to tell the truth I don't remember anything negative about this company or if they are still in operation.
