Started out as an electronic technician in Manufacturing Final Assembly and Test (F.A.T.) area. where we would assemble and test the customer comuter system before shipping it to the customer.
We would also repair any problems to the component level
- I enjoyed the troubleshooting of bad modules to the component
level; I became an expert at repairing all types of hardware failures.
Ex. - Usually a burnt IIC component (easiest)
- intermitent falures
- system bus termination reflecting failures
- Power line voltage faiiure (Usually a discreet component
power transistor)
- The hardest part of the job was at the end of each quarter where all
customers computer systems hard to be shipped off the floor. We
always met our deline and the feeling of satisfaction made it all
worthwhie.

As an technical support inhouse trainer for the manufacturing F.A.T.
area we developed courses for the new hire employees and developed courses introductory courses on new products. i did other
accomplishment while Iwas an inhouse trainer. I guess the biggest
one was changing how production was done In the F,A,T. area.

I left Manufacturing to become inhouse training coordinator for the Field Service Repair Center resonsible for their training requirements.

I worked for DEC in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada in Sales, and became the National Account Manager for the telephone company that eventually became Telus. We sold them a wide range of products and services primarily related to the Telephone Network Operations side of their business. 

There were several years when DEC's revenues from this account were greater than IBM's!!!

In the early years, the employee was valued for innovation and the ability to succeed without the need for management intervention

being one of the last contract workers to be offered a full-time position, i was very put off. 

i was the lead tech in the testing department, was on the CIT team, worked on special shifts to train incoming contract workers to facilitate transition to 24/7 with 4 shifts. 

i was passed over for 3 positions in engineering that i had won the competitions for, due to my contract status.

I could not have asked for a better place to start my career. I was initially introduced to the company as a co-op student and started there a week after my graduation. I received much training, knowledge of the industry, had great role models and met some very good friends that continue to keep in touch all these years later in our various companies.

A small team worked remotely to support various customer locations with hardware and software support solutions across Toronto. From an excellent team of people, and with even better management, we were worked together and support each other so that the customer was always kept satisfied.

In some cases, this job position might involve a lot of work on the phone or computer, communicating with customers who are attempting to use a product. Technical support employees in this case will listen to or read customer issues,

Supply chain specialist with a wide variety of responsibilities for procurement, scheduling, customer service.  My tenure with Digital culminated with a secondment to the Ayr, Scotland facility where I was Procurement Lead for an SAP implementation.

To look at the area where computers are built and delivering part necessary to the worker and counting the computer parts writing them down and enter it in the computer

Demanding environment with focus on customer satisfaction. Very good support structure and great management. Great opportunity for advancement and professional development.
