As part of a recent "restructuring" (ie. unsustainable business practices and lack of forethought leading to massive losses in a time of financial turmoil), 40 people were let go, and there were other terminations in the past months leading up to this. These people were completely blindsided, and terminations did not appear to take into account dedication to the company, seniority, or (at least on the surface) performance evaluation and production/contributions. After assuring the employees that were left that they were the "ride or die" crew that was going to help the company recover, another 35 roles were slashed (again, with little to no notice). The most recent cuts saw high performers who had been with the company since its inception be let go with almost no preparation.

This is characteristic of the company's overall approach. They are in a tumultuous business landscape, but they spend big when they have money and fire people when they don't. Critique of the company and how its "values" align with actual business practices is met with formal and informal discipline and silencing, and the implicit threat of being fired at any time for any reason (and, in some cases, no just cause) really hampers the desire to go above and beyond the call of duty. Promotions are sometimes based on a complex system of nepotism and internal/external clique dynamics, and the majority of senior employees are male.

The long and short of it is, this company will treat you like you are disposable, and poor compensation/opportunities for advancement are covered up by "cool" branding (office beer fridge, celebratory treats). Would love to see this company learn to walk the talk when it comes to their vision and values, but I'm not holding out hope.

I worked for Dipy for almost 4 years and I loved it. I got along great with my editor and we did some awesome work together. During Covid I was crazy busy writing a ton of articles and things were great for about 2 years. Then things started to shift. My pay was downgraded instead of getting a raise which I wasn't happy about but I still stayed because I enjoyed the work and the freedom. My editor went on maternity leave but my new one was great to work with as well. Then at the end of last year, we got an email that we were all being let go (all writers and editors staff and freelance) and that was it. We were told that we could apply with the company they are now outsourcing the work to. However, that company paid half the pay. No, thank you. Honestly, that was quite a shock and very disappointing. What a shame. Diply was great to work for but they should have given us a heads-up that things weren't going well so we could start looking for other work instead of just getting an email one day. I feel that wasn't handled well. Not sure how they're doing now and I wish them well but they should have done more for us and all the hard work we did for all those years. 

Management is holding together a sinking ship with duct tape and alcohol. The CEO is the definition of 'Toxic Positivity'; if you are anything less than enthusiastically positive all of the time, he holds it against you as having a 'bad attitude' and bringing down the culture. The team is probably the best thing about the company, but with restrictions and no plan to move back into the office, even that is off the table. 

Good at first but rapidly descends into working more hours, constantly fearing you’re going to be let go, poor management, upper positions don’t listen to genuine concerns, and no job advancement whatsoever. (Unless you survive one of the mass layoffs that still happen every 6-12 months as stated by reviews going back to 2019)

I would recommend as a quick fix job but wouldn’t recommend it as a long term plan. 

If you’re genuinely looking for a job in social media I wouldn’t recommend this as it may sap any enthusiasm you ever had for the role. 



First, many say already, I'll say it again. This company's leaders are very bad and make only bad decisions. Need see proof? Many times they cut jobs, often before holidays.

Good things:
Teams. Very nice and talented people who I will be friends with for life. 
Work from home, office mix, this is good but it's now the norm.

Salary? Too little, HR say fair, but no. Learning? No chance. Fridge for beer? Yes, full.

Everything else? Very bad.  Bro culture where they fail and learn nothing. Happy they're on the way out so they can't keep the revolving door of layoffs going.

Diply is run by utterly delusional people who set lofty goals and just expect their employees to make magic happen with little to no support or direction. They waste money as soon as they get it and lay people off every time they fail to course correct (aka when they can’t deny the reality of their poor management any longer).  
They don’t recognize hard work… the only thing they seem to appreciate is when you spout the same toxic positivity as senior leadership and perpetuate their corporate talking points regardless of talent or work ethic.

I enjoyed working in a team setting where everyone is creative and passionate about what they do , Everything is a learning  opportunity and  theres still room for more . Everyone is so kind and willing to teach.

While the first 2 months were all rainbows and lollypops as the time went on the management team started to show their true colors and that they had favorite staff and even when poorly treated the management and Hr did not take anything seriously.

It was a great experience to work at Diply. The culture was great, the people were great, and it was an amazing roller coaster ride until the bottom dropped out in 2018 as Facebook ad algorithms disrupted the industry.

Since Diply is solely built on Facebook, the company needs to adapt quicker to the changes in the industry and in Facebook. The people are great to work but it needs to be on speed with things.
