At first, it was a pleasure working at the company. The management was extremely polite and helpful, room for opportunity and growth. However, following the acquisition by Acuity Brands in September 2015, there was a rapid changing of the guard starting from the top all the way down. The founder and President of the company left, followed by all upper management. Micromanagement began to rear it's ugly head and corporate reshuffling became more and more apparent. Eventually, it was time to get out as you could slowly see the company erode internally. There was no room for autonomy. Office politics became more apparent than before and employees were often left in the dark with regards to the company's future.

One of the best companies I have had the privilege to work for - highly performant, but yet fun and casual. On the frontline of technology, the company is very open to constantly explore new ways of doing things, challenge assumptions, and cultivate a culture of curiosity. The teams are relatively young in age, but have long tenures with the company - we chose to stay as we are given the opportunity to grow and evolve with the company.

Working as an experienced Customer Service Rep for an innovative and competitive company – one who’s conscientious of their impact in all areas- Not only does Distech constantly strive to meet today’s Business Automation and environmental needs combined, but they really do value their employees. In the 10 years I’ve been here, I have accomplished many personal goals and have met many great hard-working, down-to-earth, exceptional people – client and co-workers alike.

Empowered to get the job done. Employees support each other well and employees ideas are heard. Distech also focuses on continuous improvement and encourages employees to take part in an effort to make the company better for customers and employees. The incentives an company culture are great.

Distech Controls is a fun, energetic, multi cultural  fun place to work. People care about each other and about the work they do because it is work worth doing. I highly recommend applying for a position with this company. 

If you are looking for long stable jobs, don’t waste your time there. Stressful work environment. Poor management. You feel you are a donkey, every day the same thing and your director is always asking you why you are so slow??

Distech Controls is a productive and fun place to work.

From the first day to the last one I felt like I was part of a family.

I was always encouraged to learn as much as possible and always had the support needed.

Always push you and stress you out to make you work like a donkey. Terrible management and disorganized.For the new employees’ training program is messed up as well. Don’t waste your time.

Complicated procedure  and they don’t follow the rules
