Distillery Restaurant Corporation

This is my first time in a mgmt role in the industry and because of my experience it will be the last. 

I will say my fellow mgrs and staff are really great. They make it all bearable. 

Half of the 'senior mgrs' are bullies. One is a bald literal child who loves to play the victim but is far from it. An other thinks they are the best thing to happen to the company. But, if you ask around, you"ll quickly learn that this person is where they are because they have never left. Well deserved!!!! Together they lead with fear. So many of my co-workers/friends are fed up with the BS but it is not the best time to get a job in or outside of the industry because of the pandemic. Hot tip: if you gossip about managers to other managers it will get back to all those other managers. It may be wise to stop gossiping at work because you are ruining what little corp culture you have left. You are supposed to be running a business not a high school. A circulating thought is why the owners are stepping in...money is coming in now, but how long will that last when all your talent has come and gone?

Decisions are made without consulting with managers and presented to staff as if they were. For example... "The company" thought it would be a great idea to fix racism by taking away $ from people in one position and give to another because those in that role are more diverse. I still cant get over that one. 

There is now no hr and to address problems no one really knows where to go or if it woud even make a difference. 

Internal promotions are not valuable as they say. I have seen very little of it. I made a suggestion once because I knew this person deserved this opportunity. I was turned down and not offered an explanation. 

Things will be promised but do not believe it unless you sign a contract. It all sounds great until nothing happens. If you decide to try this corp do not miss out on other opportunities because you are waiting for something to happen here. 

I have been working there from more than one year and it is one of the best place to work whether it is part time or full time. The management is good, they take care about their employees. Pay is competitive with additional benefits and opportunity to grow. Even international student find it easy to work as the hours are adjusted as per there school hours. I would recommend this place to everyone if you are looking for work.

At this company the rotation of staff and managers is unbelievable. The caring about the profit over the staff safety it's nuts.
I would recommend to work here if you really need the money. Just make sure not to try to build a career here cause they will only promote you if they need you in another position. They do not care how professional or not you are for your job. 


Although i was there just for the PANAM games but then also i discovered the place and trust me you will love it. Even though the pay scale was just satisfactory but it is compensated by the work environment and the food that you will eat in the event.

Pros:
- The pay was okay, the tips make up for it.
- Feeling of achieving something, sense of responsibility
- Staff event
- Lunch breaks

Cons:
- Hard to ask for time off
- Management is not approachable
- No career growth
- Unstable hours


Everyone is really nice and the managment is really friendly. great place to work if you are a student looking for a part time role. the pay is minimum but with tips , you can earn 21/h which is not bad for a student

They treat you really nice and make sure you're happy at your work place. You get a free food coupon every day and nice company to spend time with. Nice place to work at during the holidays. 

Overall satisfied with good management.  Hustle free environment and gaining good experience. The pay is like 18.25 and Tips Extra . Only problem with these industries are, its not guaranteed for hours

Very accommodating, understanding, equal balanced work team player time management and efficiency. Take the work and business very serious but fun at the same time.

Many opportunities, great food, can sometimes be long hours.
There are many places to choose from to work, and they each offer something different. Would work there again.
