What is a typical day like for you at the company?
Being one of the Chefs my day is a little longer than most but I choose that so I can see both my nightshift team and start my office duties before I go into kitchen to support my day team

The day starts at 4.30Am  the breakfast room is full of workers ready to eat and take their lunch and go to mine area to get the diamonds.
The safety is value and culture.
Dinner is a well set up like a 5-Star hotel type all you can eat and enjoy.
It is a city by itself.
Full gym and other facilities.
You manage 125 staff to keep it clean  and spotless.
It ia fun place.

Had to travel from Oliver to kelowna,for medical,twice400km total,had to travel to Edmonton to catch plane to yellowknife,waited 4 hrs to another plane to ekati,all with no compensation,got to site was then told the wage was 2$/ lower then quoted ,worked with staff that was prejudice because you where not native,no team work,mgr Jeff walked around like he was impaired,mgr.Kevin was no support,horrible rooms built in the 80's ,worst camp experience I've had in 25 years, had. No support from mgrs,

basic day consist of Safety tool box meeting with Housekeeping/ Janitorial staff.  Topics consisted of health and safety topics and basic general directions for the days events. The staff were social able. enjoyed working with all the staff found each an everyone of them pleasant. each day was a task in itself, directing the staff in a positive manner without causing any conflicts amongst the staff.

I have held several positions working there. Janitor being the last. Safety meeting first ,this is where the entire team come together to address issues or concerns. My co worker and I were responsible for garbage removal and sweeping and mopping offices. We had give or take 200  offices ,plus the men’s/women’s washrooms .We divided the tasks and worked together as a team. Good working relations with staff and Security.

Starting the day with a safety meeting and then after that done we start to prep our stations and cook afterwards.

I learnt about different types of safety courses and managing time.
Different people from many other places around Canada

Working long hours with decent break times and standing all day.

What I found the most enjoyable experience are the employees and the head chef.

This place is cheap and hard to work there. they will cut a few off the top of your hours too.you should only work there if you are as cold as ice.the best point of the job is free food free rent.management sucks not much of managing going on at all.it is not a good workplace at all.

We served around 800-1300 clients per meal
Chef was amazing, very knowledgeable.
I was busy the entire shift.

Overall enjoyed my time with the company.

Good experience working as a kitchen helper, with the focus on safety. Daily meetings included a review of safety in the workplace and overall customer satisfaction was discussed.

Worked there for 3 months, management was extremely unprofessional, intrusive, and enabled immature behaviour as well as bullying by staff. No benefits, minimum wage, fast work pace, very few perks.
