I joined Dometic Vancouver with high hopes and expectations, having been assured during the hiring process that the company prioritized employee loyalty and longevity. However, my experience with the company has been far from positive.

One of the key promises made during recruitment was the company's commitment to retaining employees for the long term. Unfortunately, this promise quickly evaporated when the company faced financial difficulties. Instead of finding sustainable solutions or alternatives, the management's strategy seemed solely focused on cost-cutting measures at the expense of its workforce.

The manner in which layoffs were conducted was particularly distressing. Employees were abruptly summoned to early morning meetings and informed of their termination without any prior warning or opportunity for discussion. This lack of transparency and empathy only added to the distress of an already difficult situation.

Furthermore, it became apparent that the company's response to financial challenges was shortsighted and lacking in compassion. Rather than investing in its existing workforce, they resorted to hiring co-op students to perform tasks beyond their expertise, all in the name of saving costs.

The lack of support and disregard for the well-being of employees during the layoffs was not only unprofessional but also deeply troubling. Being escorted out of the premises while packing belongings felt more like a punitive measure than a necessary procedure.

Overall, my time at Dometic was marred by broken promises, sudden layoffs, and a culture of disregard for employee welfare. I would caution anyone considering employment with this company to carefully evaluate their priorities and values before making a commitment.

Workplace culture is pretty bad here. People take 10-20 min non-scheduled breaks or 2-3 bathroom breaks an hour. Very lazy but protected by Union.
Management is less than to be desired. Seems like a circus. They hiring people all the time and less than a week later they will let them go due to lack of parts. Very selfish mindset as a company. 
I don't recommend working here unless you have a guaranteed contract with an hard end date that they cannot change. Otherwise you will find yourself laid off after a week or two. No oversight on hiring. 

Everything is good. But the team leader and supervisor are not especially the afternoon shift. They don’t communicate and they do their own thing. The downside working in a company like this is the slow season and if you are not a regular full time yet. You will be laid off until the company gets more order again and go back to regular operations otherwise you may need to find other jobs. You won’t be waiting for their call back. There’s no assurance.

It was productive and fun workplace. Some manager and supervisor They are really taking care of employers Some of them Literally do not take care of about anything. If you face any problem there you cannot Count of them. But this is about some of them and some of them Literally nice One, really responsive and taking care about your problem You’ve been faced. The payment is not really good but overtime is good if you are eligible to work!

-luckily it's large enought that you rarely deal with upper management so within your own team it can be easy to have a good relationship

A typical day starts off in an assigned station with a few coworkers or by yourself depending on the station. Learned how to work different kinds of machines, some managers are nice yet certain others are just straight up obnoxious and the hardest part is working overtime but can be enjoyable with the right crowd.

Working at Dometic was a positive experience. The team was supportive and there were plenty of opportunities to build strong relationships through bonding activities. Colleagues were always willing to help, which created a collaborative environment. The pay was fair, though the expectations were relatively high.

The leadership is poor and it continues to get poorer. The previous GM was rude, sexiest and ignorant. The new one is arrogant and selfish. The company gets sold every few years. The Chinese HR Manager prefers to hire only Chinese people. The staff are not friendly and the culture is not kind.

poor management, a lot of the co-ops did really boring menial work, the engineers created a strange competitive culture which is somewhat toxic as they don't really like helping each other

Best place I have worked. Management is great and everything is planned. The people that you work with like their jobs and this makes for a positive and great workplace.
