drugstore.com is unlike any other call center I have worked for. I am fortunate to be one of their work from home employees which, having two young children, has given me opportunities offered by no other employer. 

The wages could be better, I started off at just above minimum wage and after 5 years have received a few dollars in raises. All of them came with an increase in responsibility. 

The office is very casual, they frequently have fun contests and events, not to mention paid for lunches and treats.

One of the biggest perks for office workers is the free bus pass every month, this ensures you always have transportation to work. Work from home employees get a monthly credit towards their phone bill. They also have a quarterly bonus based on your performance. 

The customer base is American, and many are ESL, this can take some getting used to but is not a big issue, for the most part, the customers are friendly and pleasant to talk to. Of course most are calling with an issue to correct however reps are provided with adequate means to make customers happy. 

After going back to college to get credentials for a better paying job, I still find it difficult to leave drugstore.com, there are few companies out there that offer the flexible schedule and incredible medical benefits. 

All in all, it is just a call center job, but definitely the best one there is.

I was a customer service representative and a typical day at work would include answering the phone and assisting customers with various issues. Our team would also assist through emails. Management was amazing and often kept our team entertained with weekly give always, at one point I won tickets for two at Halifax Feast. The hardest part of the job was definitely the emails, given the fact that you were expected to be one the phone and reply to emails, never giving one customer your complete attention, unless all emails had been answered. As far what was enjoyable, for me it would be the positivity the oozed out of my peers, everyone seemed to love working for this company, which totally made things alot smoother.

I've had the opportunity to work for several call centre's as I've moved around in my 20's. I have to be honest and say that this kind of work isnt for me anymore, however, I met a lot of fantastic people who work there, and really respect the people in management. Overall I had an enjoyable experience, and especially loved working right downtown. It was the first job I received in Halifax and was great to see all of downtown. Really great view while working.

Responsible for calling doctor’s offices to verify contact lens prescriptions and processing orders, when needed.  
Responsible for cancelling and replacing orders if customer ordered incorrectly as necessary.  Also, took calls from customers and assisted them with placing new orders.
Providing excellent customer service to doctors and customers alike.

a typical day at drugstore.com would be listening to a different customer from every call, you get to know your customers very well, and the management is excellent, very great people to work with and an all around great atmosphere of people. The hardest part of this job was to leave. and the most enjoyable part was to hear the different accents of our customers, from australian, to transilvania, to the good southern accent.

I look forward to everyday I went to the office. Once I began to work at home, I received encouraging support from office staff. Management was kind and thoughtful when I was going through a rough patch. The culture of the office was empowering, as I was older than most of the staff.

At drugstore.com I am put in project quite a bit to complete returns, follow-ups, emails or verifications. 

Management (at the Halifax location) have been great and friendly. 

The most enjoyable part of the job is helping customers in need, to their satisfaction.

I have worked at Drugstore.com for 9 years and it was the best place to work at, they treat you equal even if you work from home which is what I do, My Job is to call dr's offices and verify contact lens prescriptions for customer and if they are wrong according to the dr's office staff I change them (product) (parameters) (quantity).

I loved working with this company for over 9 years which gave me the opertunity to work from home as I am a disabled person and that was the perfect fit for me and the people there were the best.
